Dear Rosie,
Well, I should start by saying that I don't think your parents see you as a failure. I just think they know that you could do much better than how you are doing. Every child at some point of their lives, feels like their parents aren't proud of them when really their parents are the opposite of what they think. I feel like reapplying for college was the right step in the right direction. You can get college done and get good grades and a degree to impress them.
You shouldn't feel worthless! I say if you put an amount of energy to some kind of passion and your happy about it then you shouldn't need to impress anyone and you shouldn't feel worthless. We all were created on this earth for a purpose. Find your purpose and roll with it. It isn't easy growing up and your parents should know that. I think you only feel like nothing will add up to what they want for you but you going out there and being the best you could be is the only thing they could ask from you. And don't you dare think they don't love you. I have a good feeling that they do.
With love and support sent your way,
Alex
