Ask Alex ~A wattpad Advice Column~

I am really close with one of my guy friends and think of him as a brother. Just the other day I found out he has a HUGE crush on me. How do I tell him that I don't have a crush on him without ruining our friendship?

Well let me ask you this, is the guy one to run away if you say that you don't like him like that? Because if he is then you might be ruining your relationship anyways. If he isn't that kind and can still hold a friendship after rejection then I would just tell him but either way you have to let him down gently. I would recommend saying it like "I'm really flattered that you like me but I'm sorry, I don't see you anything but like a brother..." Sometimes that person will understand and still want to be in your life and other times they won't be so much understanding and in this case you have to explain it more to them why you don't see them fit. It's not that they wouldn't be good as more than friends but it's just something isn't there for you both to be. Does that make sense? But other than that you should also tell them "but I really don't want this effecting our friendship.." Words help a lot and give the person space if need be :3
