Always a Memory

I come back from our victory in the battlefield.

I get sent to the court room where the king awaits my arrival.

"Congratulations, thank you for bringing victory to my kingdom once again." The King says with a smile.

I kneel.

"All for our nation Your Majesty.." I say back.

"I know you are tired. Go rest." He sends me to my chambers.

Where is Ethan?

I ask the officials who escorted me to my chambers, but they leave immediately.

I'll check tomorrow..

I rest.

Next day

The sun shines in my face and I awaken.

That felt so nice..

I bathe and change clothes.

Then I put on makeup and accessories.

Have to look beautiful for my prince!

Finally I finish.

I walk to his chambers and enter.

"Who comes in without permission?" He demands.

"It's me Maya, Your Majesty..." I say with a smile.

I hear him sigh.

He comes out and I see another woman with him.

Who is she!? What is she doing with the prince.!!?

"Who is this woman Your Majesty..?" She asks.

"This is the general, Maya, Maya this is my queen." He replies.

"Aren't you supposed to kneel down to me??" She says with an attitude.

Q-Queen...!

I see him get upset.

"Kneel down to my queen!" He says with a temper.

I clench my fists and look him dead in the eyes.

"I don't see a queen. Why should I kneel to a woman whom I don't know." I say coldly.

She slaps me.

"How dare you!" She yells.

I hold my cheek.

"Apologize now Maya!" He says angrily.

I shake my head.

"What happened to us...I fought all these battles for you...only for you...why did you do this to me..?!?" I ask him harshly.

He turns away.

"She is now my QUEEN. I suggest you stop this nonsense now and kneel or else!" He warns.

I stand my ground.

She slaps me again.

"Kneel!" She yells at me, but I don't listen.

"Guards!" He yells.

They come in.

"Yes my Lord!" They kneel.

"Take the general away and imprison her!" He yells and turns his back on me.

This is how I get repayed...I did everything for you!

They grab me.

"This is how you repay me!?" I yell.

I get thrown into a prison cell.

I get beaten daily and starved to death.

My death date is coming up....why not just die now..

"Well well well...you look terrible." A familiar voice said to me.

I look to where the voice is coming from and I see her.

"You just couldn't kneel to me could you..poor thing." She says with a devilish laugh.

I try to get up.

"You witch! You'll pay!" I scream and slap her.

"You dare slap me!? Hold her now!" She yells.

They hold me down.

She takes out her hair pin and uses the end of it to scratch my cheek.

I scream in pain.

"Take that as a memory of me." She smiles at me.

They throw me down to the ground.

"Did you really think he would love you..? He's the one who killed your entire family.." she says with a grin.

No no no...it can't be...

"He wouldn't!" I yell.

She laughs at me.

"Poor thing. He was sent to kill them. Unfortunately he spared you." She said frowning and leaves.

Why would he do this to me..

I feel like passing out and then I hear someone.

"Quickly take her!" I hear a voice say to someone and I get carried out.

I'm too tired to look and I pass out.

They are going to pay for what they have done to me..!
