Always a Memory

Lola helps me take my medicine for the baby.

"Princess, it's best I go find the necklace. You are now pregnant. Nothing can happen to you." She says concerned.

"Alright, but be quick. I will distract him the best I can." I tell her and she nods.

"Princess...my lord wants to see you." one of my other servants says.

"Let him in." I inform and lay down.

"How are you feeling my lady..?" he asks concerned and sits down next to me.

"Better." I signal Lola to start.

"I will bring more medicine for you princess." She bows and leaves.

"Why more medicine?" he asks.

I sit up and lay on him.

"The doctor checked on me and said I am very malnourished. The medicine helps me." I partially lie.

He nods.

Seems he isn't convinced enough yet.

I go to grab the fruits and I purposely drop it and cut my finger with the glass.

"ouch!" I yelp in pain.

"Princess!!" he yells out for the doctor.

"I-I'm sorry...I'm still very weak..." I pretend.

He makes me lean on him.

"The doctor is coming. I will be watching you more closely." He says.

The same doctor comes in.

I signal for him to lie.

He checks my pulse and his eyes widen.

"She has been poisoned." He says.

"Poisoned!?! Can it be cured!?" He asks harshly.

The doctor doesn't answer.

I need a little bit more time...

"I'll go get another doctor." He says angrily and I stop him.

"Stay with me...please.." I fake cry and he seemed to buy it.

"Cure her immediately or I will kill you and your family!" he yells out.

The doctor nods in fear.

"I'm back princess with your med-.." she drops it.

"What's wrong my lady?!" She pretends to ask scared.

"She has been poisoned...Who else has come to see the princess?!" He asks her coldly.

I signal her to lie.

"T-The Queen sent the princess some chicken soup a few times...." She kneels.

He just stares at her.

He doesn't seem to buy it..

"Who witnessed this?" He asks suspiciously.

"The 2 guards and..." Before she can finish I spit out 'blood'.

"Princess!" She comes to me with concern.

He quickly leaves.

Lola makes sure he isn't there and comes back to me with the necklace.

I hide it.

"Tomorrow cover for me so I can go see the maid." I tell her and she nods.

I lay down the rest of the day and rest.

Have to rest a lot for my precious baby..

Ethan's pov
They could be lying...but I just can't help but believe everything she says..

"Mother! I want to speak to you now!" I yell out.

She comes out shocked.

"Why are you screaming?!" She yells back.

"I am going to ask you only once....Did you poison Amelia?!?" I ask her angrily.

"No! I did not!" She turns around.

"Why are you lying?!" I ask her impatiently.

"I'm not! Why would I poison her?! You are believing her over me?! REMEMBER SHE IS THE WIFE OF YOUR STUPID BROTHER!" She screams out.

"Alright." I say and bring out all of my mother's maids.

"Did my mother send any one of you to bring chicken soup to Amelia?" I ask in a low, scary tone.

One of the maids raise their hand.

"DO NOT LIE! I NEVER SENT ANYTHING TO HER!" my mother slaps the maid.

"Mother! STEP BACK! You! Tell me now!" I yell at her.

At first I just wanted Amelia because she was my brother's woman...now I can't stand it...I want her because I really love her..

"T-The Queen made it herself and told me to send it to the princess several times..." She looks at my mother and shuts up.

"Don't look at her! Finish!" I say.

"S-She told me she would kill me if I said anything...to anyone..." She finishes.

I can't believe this...

"She is lying!" my mother yells out.

"Give me the antidote." I demand.

"I didn't poison her! I don't have one!" she yells at me.

"If she dies...You will pay." I threaten her and leave.

I go back to Amelia's room to see her resting.

She is so beautiful...

I caress her face.

I have feelings for her..

I smile.

She turns around with her back facing me and I notice a scar on her lower back.

T-That scar...I've seen it somewhere before..but where

I go back to my room.

Maya had a similar scar...the scar I gave her..

I get one of my men to investigate.

"That scar I gave Maya..Is it possible it could be a coincidence??" I ask them.

"Maya's body was never found, but they said she was executed.." one of them say.

Is it possible she could be Maya...?!
