Alistair's pov
It gets dark and we suddenly get ambushed.

The assassins grab my men and put the sword on their throats.

"Don't hurt them!" I yell out.

I follow them to a hideout and there I see the king.

"How did you know where we were...?" I ask him.

"You slipped up when you went to that area." He laughs.

"What do you want from me?" I ask him.

"I can let you go back to your kingdom, highly protected, but you will have to take my daughter, Veronica." He says with a grin.

"Or else...your 'wife' over there-..." I don't let her finish.

"Don't you dare touch my wife!" I yell.

She laughs.

"Then you will do as I say." she commands.

"Why do you want to be a princess of my kingdom..??" I ask her.

She comes to me and holds my chin.

"Because I want to be the princess of another kingdom. I also had my eyes on you." She grins.

I push her away.

The king comes up to me.

"The only way there will be peace. You choose which ending you want. I will give you a day to think about it." He says and turns away.

I can't let them hurt my wife..

"Fine....I will agree. But you will not touch my wife." I say angrily.

"If you make me upset...She will be the first I hurt." She frowns.

I nod.

They prepare for the wedding to be done at the hall in my kingdom.

I am so sorry my love...I have no other choice..

I sigh and get into the carriage with her.

"Let's go." Veronica tells the driver.

We head to my kingdom.

Maya's pov
I feel sick again and the doctor is called.

"Your baby is a lot better now. Very healthy." he says happily.

I smile.

"Knowing my lord, he would definitely want a princess..." I laugh with Lola.

"Do I still have to take the medicine?" I ask him and he shakes his head.

He bows and leaves.

I rest for a bit.

"Princess." I hear Lola say and I wake up.

"Prince Ethan is here to see you." She says.

In the middle of the night?

I welcome him in.

"Do you feel better now?" he asks.

I nod.

Suddenly I see an arrow come flying towards me and I use Ethan's sword to cut it before it can hit me.

Ethan looks at me in shock.

He looks outside for the assassin and runs after him.

"Princess! You just gave yourself away.." Lola whispers.

Ethan must have tricked me.

"He tricked me.." I say.

"How? He would have to know-..." she stops and gasps.

"Unless he knew it was you..." She finishes and I nod.

"We have to be quick if we want to expose them tomorrow. He will want to expose me first." I head to bed.

Ethan's pov
I pay the assassin.

I knew it..I was suspicious.

I get angry.

"How dare she fool me!" I yell.

"Calm down my lord. You can deal with her tomorow at the banquet and expose her lie." One of my men say.

in front of father..would be the perfect time.

"Do I report this to the queen?" one of them ask.

"I'll let her deal with Maya right on the spot." I feel a sting in my heart.

"I will go to my room. You guys already know what to do." I leave.

I sit down on the table and drink.

"I couldn't have possibly fallen in love with her..?? Could I.??" I laugh.
