Always a Memory

Alistair's pov
She had all these problems and I wasn't there to help her..

I lay down, thinking about how things will be from now on.

"Go tell your father about our wedding." She says.

I ignore her and turn over.

I'm going to lose her

"Did you hear me?!" She yells.

I ignore her again.

I need to see her..at least one last time..

I write a note and I go to her room.

I knock and put the note on the floor and leave.

I wait for her at our favorite spot and I see her from a distance.

"What can I do for you Prince Alistair?" She asks as if she didn't know me.

I feel a sharp pain in my heart.

this hurts so bad

I hug her tightly.

"I love you.." I kiss her passionately.

She pushes me away and slaps me.

"If you did...you would do what is right. For whatever reason she is threatening you with to make you give her the Crown Princess title, you should know better than to let anyone do that to you." She says.

She's right...

"I know-.." she doesn't let me finish.

"I'm leaving in a few days. I won't ever come back here. Say what you have to say now." she says coldly.

I can't let her leave..

"I-I can't let you leave...don't go." I say with tears.

She sighs and turns away.

"Don't make me do this Maya..I will make you stay." I say harshly.

I will do whatever it takes to make her stay..

"I don't care. I'm leaving." She says angrily and walks off.

Fine. I'll make you stay.

The next day I go to my father.

"Father..Maya is still the traitor remember?! You can't just let her do as she pleases." I tell him.

"She saved your grandmother and even my life. I owe it to her." He says and dismisses me.

Fine.

I make the decree of lowering Maya's status to my private maid.

Let's see how you can now

I go to my room and await for her to come to me.

After what felt like hours, she comes in with anger.

"Who are you to make me stay?! I will not be your maid!" she screams at me.

Lola runs to her.

"My lady..calm down...stress is not good for the-.." she covers her mouth.

The what.

"I will not do this. I will leave and that's final." She says with tears.

I grab her and lay her down on my bed.

Seeing her like this

I kiss her passionately and hold her hands.

She quickly bites my lip until it bleeds.

I get off her.

"Do you really hate me that much..?" I ask her.

She looks right into my eyes.

"I do. Now let me go." she demands.

I don't believe her

Suddenly Veronica comes in and she yanks Maya off the bed.

"What are you doing with my soon to be husband?!" She yells.

I pull her away from Maya.

She gets up and looks at me with anger.

"Leave." I demand and she goes.

"What did I tell you?" she asks me.

I just nod.

I have to send someone to protect her

I go to the hall to see my father and before I enter I hear Maya talking with my father.

"I can't be his maid your majesty..that woman will harm me and my baby." She says in tears.

B-Baby....?!

"I will talk to him for you." He says to her.

She's pregnant..with my child!

I run to her.

"You're pregnant with my child!?" I touch her belly.

She slaps me.

"You don't deserve to be a father. Your Majesty please let me live elsewhere." She pleads.

"No. You can't go!" I grab her hand tightly.

"You're hurting me, let go!" she yells in pain.

I let go.

"I will send you away for a while until you give birth to the child. By then you will have to come back and marry Alistair again." She quickly agrees.

I can't be without her..those few months away drove me crazy

"Father...no please! I can't be without her!" I plead.

"You chose this on your own Alistair." She slaps my hand away.

I finally agree and I watch as she packs her things.

I will send people to look after her just in case.

I see her go until she is completely gone.

"Caleb. Follow her and protect her at all times until she comes back." He nods and heads out with a few of his men.
