"One grande vanilla bean Frappuccino."

"So, the usual then? I should just have it ready for you."

Spencer chuckled. "Well, the cold weather is coming. Soon I'll be ordering hot chocolate until March."

Iris smiled. "I still don't understand how one could not like coffee. You're not human."

The blonde shrugged. "Call me crazy, but it's disgusting."

This was a typical morning for Spencer Hathaway. Or it had been for the last few months at least. After the Particle Accelerator incident, her life did a total 180. Getting up in the mornings were a lot harder since losing Ronnie. But she powered through. She along with Cisco and Caitlin were the only three to stay loyal to and continue working for Dr. Wells. That meant helping to keep an eye on Barry Allen. The night of the explosion, Barry was struck by lightning, and Dr. Wells suspected it had to do with the Particle Accelerator. So, after months of no improvement in the hospital, Wells convinced Barry's foster father, Detective Joe West, to move Barry into STAR Labs to be monitored by the team and to hopefully find out what was actually happening to him.

One day when Joe was visiting Barry, Spencer overheard him on the phone with the police department. They were having trouble since they didn't have their CSI Barry. Spencer volunteered to help, as she had minored in Forensics. And soon enough, she had a part time job as the new forensics assistant at CCPD. At least until Barry woke up.

So, every morning Spencer would go to Jitters and order a drink that was not coffee from Iris West, Joe's daughter and one of Barry's close friends, before heading off to the precinct. She had become pretty good friends with Iris, between her visits to STAR Labs to see Barry and Spencer stopping in the coffee shop.

"Any news on Barry?" Iris asked hopefully.

Spencer smiled sympathetically, giving her the same answer she always did. "Nothing's changed yet. But hopefully soon."

Iris nodded, failing not to look disappointed. She finished making Spencer's order and handed the drink to her. "Here you go."

Spencer happily took the beverage, handing Iris a few bills. "Thanks, you're the best. I'll see you later?"

Her dark-haired friend nodded. "See you."

Next Spencer was off to work. She practically finished her drink on the walk over. Walking in the doors of the precinct, she was greeted by all the other cops.

"Morning, Hathaway. There's a DNA sample on your desk upstairs we need you to analyze."

"Nice to see you too, Thawne." Spencer replied, causing the blonde haired detective to laugh.

She continued her journey up to her- well Barry's- lab to do as she was told. About an hour into working she got a call from Cisco.

"What's up, nerd?" She greeted upon answering.
