"He could run faster than the speed of sound but he still wasn't fast enough to close the distance between them."
Spencer Hathaway had a good life. Not incredibly noteworthy. Not utterly horrible. Just good. Then Barry Allen was struck by lighting...

"Dude, that was insane!" Cisco told Barry, as he cleaned the Flash suit in the cortex. "I mean, even I'm having a hard time getting mad at you from dirtying up my suit."
"Okay, when are we going to start considering it my suit?" Barry asked from his seat as he watched Cisco.
"I'd be comfortable calling it our suit."
Team Flash was gathered in STAR Labs, post Barry saving a couple from a burning car after an intense crash.
"Tonight was the fastest you've ever run," Caitlin told Barry, as she entered the room from the med-bay.
"Yes, your training is paying off." Wells commended from behind the monitors.
"That couple is alive tonight because of you," Spencer smiled in admiration, meeting Barry on the other side of the desk.
He shared her smile before turning back to Wells. "I can still get faster. I know I can."
"And you one day, I'm sure." Wells nodded. "But for today, I'd say you've fulfilled your save quota. Proper rest is what you need, as do you all." With that, Wells left the building.
"Better yet, what we all need is a proper drink. Who's up for a round?" Cisco asked, excitedly making Spencer roll her eyes good heartedly.
"Oh, dude, it's movie night with Joe. I can't. But I'll see you guys tomorrow, all right?" Barry smiled.
They called their goodbyes out to him as he headed out. As she passed Spencer, he brushed her arm with his own, sending her what seemed like her own smile. It could have been a friendly thing- and it probably was- but it messed with Spencer's mind. She didn't know what do think of the gesture, especially since she had been texting Ethan the last week or so. The two had planned a date for tomorrow, too, and she couldn't be thinking about Barry like that anymore. Not when this thing with Ethan had good potential so far.
"What about you two?" Cisco spoke up again, grabbing her attention. "Drinks on me?"
"I think I'll pass." Caitlin replied, not looking up from what she was doing.
Spencer shared a confused look with Cisco before focusing back on the girl. "You okay?"
Caitlin looked up, glancing between them hesitantly before settling her gaze on Cisco. "I was looking for my tablet at your work station and I found this." She held up the device to show an article about FIRESTORM.
Spencer's eyebrows shot up in surprise.
"I can't explain," Cisco began to defend himself.
"I thought we agreed that we'd stop looking for Ronnie?" Spencer asked.
"Yeah, I know, and I...didn't stop looking for Ronnie." Cisco cringed.
