"He could run faster than the speed of sound but he still wasn't fast enough to close the distance between them."
Spencer Hathaway had a good life. Not incredibly noteworthy. Not utterly horrible. Just good. Then Barry Allen was struck by lighting...

"I come baring greasy food!" Spencer announced, walking into the Cortex with bags of Big Belly Burger take out.
"Thank God, I'm starving!" Cisco cheered with a fist pump. He jumped up from his chair and took a bag from Spencer's hand.
She sat the other bag on the counter, passing Caitlin her order.
"Not going to lie, I really have been craving a burger lately." Caitlin admitted, taking the food.
Spencer slumped into the seat next to her. "Me too, Cait. Me too."
"So, where's Barry?" Cisco asked after shoving a handful of fries into his mouth. "He's missing out."
"He's on a date with Iris," Spencer said casually, sipping her Pepsi.
Caitlin and Cisco eyed each other in confusion. "I didn't know Barry and Iris were-"
"They're not." Spencer interrupted her fellow doctor. "Not that Barry would mind."
Still confused, Cisco went on, "Wait, so Barry likes Iris?"
Spencer widened her eyes in emphasis, "Like a lot."
Cisco slumped back in his chair dejectedly. "Damn, that really blows a hole in my hopes for you two being together."
Spencer groaned. "Seriously?"
"What? I was really rooting for you!"
"Well stop! I feel nothing for Barry romantically. No, I don't want to be with him and no, I am not jealous of him and Iris. We are just friends." Spencer sighed dramatically before focusing on her meal.
After a moment of calm silence, Cisco decided to break it. "Your denial only makes me ship it harder."
"I swear to God!" Spencer just shook he head as her two friends just laughed at her annoyance.
Before anymore argument could be had, Cisco's computer started beeping.
"What is it?" Spencer asked, sitting up straight.
"Man. Gun. Bad." Cisco said quickly.
Immediately Spencer pulled out her phone to alert their speedster friend as Caitlin stood up and looked over Cisco's shoulder at the monitor. Putting her phone on speaker, she placed it on the table waiting for Barry to answer, hoping the movie he was seeing was over by now.
Luckily he answered on the second ring. "Hey, Spencer."
"Code 237 on Waid Boulevard." Cisco told him before Spencer could speak.
"Public indecency?" Barry questioned, making Spencer give Cisco a weird look.
"Wait, I think I meant a 239." Cisco corrected.
"Dog leash violation?"
Caitlin groaned, leaning over toward the phone. "Bad man with a gun in a getaway car. Go!"
