"He could run faster than the speed of sound but he still wasn't fast enough to close the distance between them."
Spencer Hathaway had a good life. Not incredibly noteworthy. Not utterly horrible. Just good. Then Barry Allen was struck by lighting...

The boys made their way out of the Arrow Cave after that. Cisco joined Diggle and Roy in a van while Oliver and Barry used their own modes of transportation; a motorcycle and running, respectively. That left Spencer, Caitlin, Felicity and Lyla to wait back in the lair.
"Do you ever get lonely while the guys are out on a mission?" Spencer asked her fellow blonde friend.
"Not really. I still communicate with them through their comm links." Felicity shrugged. "And it's safer down here, for my benefit and theirs."
"Have any of them taught you self-defense?" Caitlin wondered.
"Uh huh. Diggle has. But I don't think I'd be able to hold my own in an actual fight yet."
"With the proper training, you could take any of the three of them down." Lyla stated with a small smile.
"Yeah, you could." Spencer laughed, nudging Felicity's side.
"I wish we could do that," Caitlin sighed. "Barry's awesome but he can't really teach us to run away from problems at the speed of light."
"Actually, when I lived in Starling, Roy taught me some fighting skills. Though, it was mostly in terms of street fighting. Probably not very useful against metahumans and super soldiers." Spencer told them. Noticing the looks she was receiving from Caitlin and Felicity, Spencer shrank into her chair. "What? We lived in the Glades!"
"Yeah but I can just imagine you two bonding over taking down street thugs. So romantic!" Felicity teased causing Spencer to blush.
"Please, shut up!"
"Please, you've barely given us any information to tease you further on." Caitlin scoffed.
A beep from a device on the table in front of them prevented any more discussion.
"I swear I turned that off," Felicity muttered, leaning forward.
"What?" Caitlin questioned.
"Markos' phone," Felicity replied, picking it up. "I shut it down after I decrypted it."
"Can someone turn it back on remotely?" Asked Lyla.
"And back trace the trace?" Felicity added anxiously, looking between all them.
Spencer's eyes widened. "We have to get out here, now!"
They all began to move when a boomerang came out of nowhere and flew between Spencer and Felicity's heads. The two of them along with Caitlin hid while Lyla slowly backed away from the man who threw the weapon.
"Hello, Lyla," Harkness spoke, "It's been a long time."
Lyla hastily reached for whatever weapon she could find, her and Harkness dodging one another's attacks.
"Guns!" She shouted.
"Cabinet. Third drawer!" Felicity yelled back.
Spencer watched anxiously as Lyla went to the directed location and grabbed a gun, firing in Harkness's direction. Her heart pounded in her chest, leaning on Caitlin in support who was equally just as afraid. She noticed Felicity sneaking around, probably thinking of a way to help Lyla who couldn't hit Harkness.
