"Spencer, you're so sweet." Cisco replied sarcastically.
Spencer was about to come back with something witty but got distracted by a noise coming from the other end of the phone. Actually not a noise; a song.
"Is that Poker Face playing in the background?" she questioned.
"Why yes it is."
"Why the hell are you listening to Lady Gaga music from five years ago?"
"As I was just telling Caitlin, Barry likes it. And before you ask how I knew that, I checked his facebook page."
"Uh, stalker much?"
"Hey, I am not a stalker, this is for scientific purposes."
"Whatever you say, creep."
"You are so- Oh my, God!"
Spencer sat up straight in her seat. "Cisco, what happened? What's wrong?"
"He's up!" Caitlin's muffled voice came from the other end.
"Cisco, is she talking about Barry? Is Barry awake?"
"Yeah, yeah. I've got to go." He hurried.
"No, Cisco wait! Don't-" She tried to stop him but it was too late. He'd hung up on her.
Sighing, she shut off her phone and sat in on the desk. She contemplated going to STAR Labs but she had a job here to do. One that won't be hers for much longer now that Barry seemed to finally be awake. Surprisingly, she was disappointed by this. Not about Barry being awake. She was elated that he had woken up- or as much as she could be since she didn't know him. Though she had gotten to know him pretty well from spending time in his lab and around Joe and Iris. She was just a little sad about having to leave CCPD since she'd enjoyed playing CSI for the past few months. And she liked hanging out with Eddie and considered him a good friend now. At least she still had STAR Labs.
An hour later, Spencer went to find Joe to see if there were any new cases he needed help on.
"It's been a pretty slow day so far, Spencer. I'll let you know when anything-" Joe slowly trailed off when he noticed something behind her head.
She turned around in confusion until her eyes landed on the person Joey must have seen; Barry Allen. Her eyes widened slightly. She had already known he'd woken up- something she probably should have mentioned to Joe- but seeing him up and walking around was still a shock. Barry, along with Iris, made his way over to Joe, so Spencer slid out of the way. She watched Joe hug Barry, glancing at Iris who was watching them as well with a huge smile on her face. Spencer shuffled her feet awkwardly, feeling like she was intruding on a family moment.
Pulling away from the hug, Joe set his hand on Barry's shoulder. "You look okay. Are you really?"
Barry gave him a small smile. "Yeah." Then his eyes shifted to Spencer, his brows narrowing in confusion. "Who's this?"
Iris finally spoke up. "Oh, Barry this is Spencer. She's-"
"Spencer Hathaway?" Barry questioned, interrupting his friend. Noticing everyone's surprise, Barry continued. "Cisco mentioned you."
"Oh, yeah." Spencer nodded. "I work with them at STAR Labs."
"So, what are you doing here?"
Spencer opened her mouth to reply but Joe answered for her. "She's been subbing in for you while you were in the coma."
Barry nodded in understanding.
Before anyone could say anything else, another police officer came over. "Detective West, we've got a 550 in progress at Gold City Bank. Two dead. The storm's really picking up on the south side. Grab your rain gear."
