"Because it's Barry!" Spencer insisted. "And I believe in him."
She locked gazes with the stunned speedster, trying to convey that she meant every word that she said.
"Do it right," Wells spoke again, "You'll take him down."
Caitlin took a step closer to him, her tone serious, "Do it wrong, you'll shatter every bone in your body."
Barry cast his eyes away from her and to the ground, deep in thought. She did the same. It hurt her to even think about the possibility of Barry getting hurt from this, but she had faith that he wouldn't. Because he was Barry Allen, the fastest man alive, and she strongly believed that he was capable of anything.

Barry left to head back to the precinct not long after that. For a few minutes, Spencer hung back in the lab; looked over some data. But she couldn't stop thinking about Barry. Well, he'd been occupying her mind a lot lately, but this time she was thinking about this situation they had all found themselves in with the metal metahuman. So, she told Caitlin and Cisco she needed something from home and headed to the station to check on her friend.
The first person she found once she walked in was Joe. Technically though, various cops remembered her from her nine months there and greeted her enthusiastically but Joe was the only one of importance right now.
"Hey, Spencer, what brings you here?" the man asked with a smile. "You come to get your old job back?"
She chuckled. "No, actually, I think Barry's refilling that spot nicely. Speaking of him, where is he? There's something I need to talk to him about."
Joe raised his eyebrows. "Really? I recall Eddie mentioning something about the two of you being on a date earlier. What's that all about?"
If Spencer had been drinking something, she would have done a spit take at that moment. "What? That is a complete misunderstanding. See we had to make up an excuse because Eddie..."
Joe started giggling at her awkwardness, and if she wasn't so uncomfortable right now, she would have smiled. He really did have the best laugh. "I'm just joking. I figured it was something like that."
Spencer sighed in relief. "Good."
"Because if something actually did happen between you two, Barry would've given it away. He's always really giddy after spending time with you. And you're always smiling when he's around."
The blonde's eyes widened, and her mouth hung open slightly as she tried to form a response.
Joe chuckled again. "He's upstairs with Eddie."
She shook her head, trying to forget what he just said. She turned around slowly and begun heading for the staircase, turning back a few times to see Joe watching her leave with a smile.
Once she was on the upper level of the police station, she found Barry and Eddie on opposite sides of a punching bag- something she wasn't really expecting.
"I had my fair share of bullies at school." Spencer heard Eddie tell Barry once standing in the doorway of the room.
"Yeah, somehow I find that hard to believe." Barry scoffed.
"I was short, fat, and the son of a politician who closed the factory in my school district, so not so popular." Eddie replied.
"I can relate to that." Spencer spoke up, making her presence known to both boys.
Their heads turned to face her, Eddie's face lighting up and Barry's showing surprise.
"I cannot picture Spencer Hathaway short and fat." Eddie shot back with a light chuckle.
