"See, I told you you'd like it!" Ethan smirked, pointing his fork at her.

She laughed, covering her mouth as she swallowed a delicious bite. "Okay, listen, I've only ever had regular, plain cheesecake. If I had known you could add freaking Oreos to it, I'd be ten pounds bigger right now."

He chuckled, looking at her in admiration as she dug into the cake. "Did I tell you, you look absolutely stunning tonight?"

Spencer scoffed. "And I'm sure I look positively radiant as I inhale this cheesecake."

"You do."

She paused, taking in the way he was looking at her. She felt something tug at her heart that confused her but she ignored it and smiled back at him. Spencer attempted to form a response when her phone started buzzing from inside the clutch she brought.

"I'm sorry. People knew I was out tonight and if they're calling, it's probably an emergency." She explained, searching for the device.

Ethan nodded. "I understand. It's to be expected when you date a doctor I guess."

She chuckled, standing up with her phone in her hands. "Excuse me." She glanced around the restaurant and found a secluded area where she could take the call. Once she was alone, she finally looked at the caller ID and saw that it was Barry who was calling. She swallowed the lump that had instantly formed in her throat and answered it. "Hey?"

"Spencer, hi!" Barry's bright voice came, tainted by a bit of nervousness. She also noted the commotion in the background of wherever he was calling from. "I kind of need your help."

"What's going on?" she asked immediately, afraid it had to do with the Bonnie and Clyde-esque duo they were dealing with.

"You see, Caitlin and I decided to scope out a bar where Shawna and Clay might go," Barry began to explain.

Spencer suddenly groaned, "Oh, God, Caitlin didn't get drunk, did she?"

"That's exactly what happened," Barry sighed.

"Bare, Caitlin cannot drink without proper supervision and strict guidelines," she scolded playfully. "Where is she now?"

"That's the problem. She kind of just disappeared. She seemed very mischievous."

"Shit, that's never good."

"Didn't think so."

"Okay, where are you?"

"Karaoke dive bar on the south side of the city." He told her.

"Huh, I'm literally right near that place. I'll be there in a few. Hang tight and keep an eye out for Cait."

"Uh...I think I just found her." Barry's shaky voice announced. "I've got to go."

"May the force be with you," She teasingly wished him luck and hung up the phone. She took a deep breath before heading back for her table where she began gathering her stuff. "Hey, I'm sorry. I kind of have to cut this short."

Ethan's eyes widened and he stood up, "Emergency at the hospital?"

She shook her head, snorting lightly, "No, actually, my best friend is drunk and wreaking havoc, and if you knew her, you'd know that it's actually an emergency itself."

"Oh," he laughed lightly. "Understandable. You go ahead, I'll get the check."

She gave him a pointed look, remembering the small argument they had about paying the bill at the beginning of the meal. "Alright, but I'll get the next one."
