02: Years Later

"YUP! Thank you so much for standing up to those meanies that were calling me names!" Aph said, looking toward the two first grade girls whom were shaking whilst looking at Aaron.

"No problem." He smiled. "I promise I'll never let them do that again."

    "Pinky promise?"

Some years later...

Aph woke up to a text.

Hey, I'll pick you up at 7 to go to school, okay?
-Aaron

Okay. ;3 She responded.

Getting ready, the butterflies began to flutter around inside her stomach when she began thinking about her first day as a freshman. She smiled when she thought of Aaron being there to help her feel comfortable and welcomed at Phoenix Drop High. After all, this was his last year being there and only Aph's first. After getting ready she took a bite of toast and butter, and opened the door to see Aaron waiting in his car. Aphmau smiled and Aaron walked out of the car to open the passenger door. She hugged him and they were on their way to school.

"How was your weekend?" He asked, "Besides letting a monster kill me in that dungeon."

Aphmau smirked. "That was your fault! You can't just run into a dungeon without me being ready like you did!"

"Well then, you should expect me to run in. I mean, come on, you've been raiding dungeons with me for three years!" He responded.

"Yeah, but still..." She sighed. Aaron always would run into dungeons without being fully healed. It was a very bad habit if he didn't want to keep on dying. Dying isn't good in the game that they played together. In fact, every time you would die, 1,000 coins would be deducted from your account and all of your party members'.

"You should at least let me be ready to heal you before-" Aaron cut her off by saying, "We're at school."

Aphmau looked out of the passenger window. The school was huge for a high school. Though she had seen it many times during the tour, it still shocked her. It looked almost as big as a university. Aaron opened her door and let her out.

"Oh, why thank you, FC." She said as she curtseyed. Aaron smiled.

"The first thing you should do," Aaron stated, "Is go to the auditorium where you will be greeted by all of the other freshman, your teachers and some other kids that will help and greet you on your first day."

"Thanks, but where-"

"Follow me and I'll show you where the auditorium is."

She followed him and he led her to a massive room filled with all the students with the blue PDH logo on their uniform - showing that they too were freshman. Some of them had cat and dog-ears and tails.

"I need to get to my first-period class, so, I'll see you at lunch!" Aaron said as he ran away, waving goodbye.

Aphmau smiled. I'm so happy that I get to spend one last year with him. She thought. She sighed after thinking that this might be the last year they would see each other. Aph was going to miss Aaron. This school year and summer vacation needed to be really special. Aph was going to make that happen. She wanted her best friend to be even closer to her than her relationship with him before.

"Hello there!" Said a boy with blond hair and blue eyes.

"Hi." Aph said.

"Are you Aphmau by any chance?" He asked, struggling to pronounce her first name.

"Yes, I am."
