When Can I See You Again? ? Aarmau

19- Guilt

NEARLY ONE MONTH HAD passed without Aaron making even eye contact with Aphmau. There were a couple of times where she had attempted to begin a conversation with Aaron, but he ran away instead of facing her.

Aaron knew eventually he'd have to confront her, but for the moment, he pushed it aside and worked around it. He knew that Aphmau deserved a way better friend. What kind of friend would run away from another friend? What kind of friend would let another friend go? Aaron was now that kind of person. He hated that. He was beginning to think that Aph had served a higher purpose than his father ever did.

Aaron roamed through the hallway when he someone bumped into him. "Watch where you're-" he glanced down, realising that there was only one person who was that short in this school.

Aphmau.

"Oh." he sighed.

She looked up at him, showing him her usual big brown joyful eyes, now saddened and puffy. He knew this was his own doing and something inside of him snapped.

His father didn't deserve to be protected. Aaron didn't need to help him. Aaron needed to help the actual person he loved. He needed to help the person who made him felt broken without. He needed Aphmau.

Without hestitation, he wrapped his warm, long arms around her petite figure. He stared at her like she was the only thing in the world. Everything around them seemed to blur away. His eyes searched through Aph's- attempting to find any apologetic glances left to give to him.

Finally, he rested his head on her shoulder, his body hunched over in an unusual and uncomfortable manner. He tried to figure out any words to say other than 'I'm sorry'. He owed Aphmau more than that.

"I missed you. I'm really sorry, Aphmau. I don't want to make any excuses and I want you to know that I regret doing what I did. I really hope you can forgive me." he stated.

This time, Aphmau looked at Aaron to see if he was speaking the truth. After finding what she was looking for, she smiled. "I do." she murmured, her voice laced with sleepiness and sorrow.

It was a very idiotic move on Aaron's part, obviously. But Aphmau knew him and cared for him too much to let him go. She loved him.

Aaron removed his head from Aphmau's shoulder and stared intently in her beautiful eyes. "Aphmau?" he began, realising something he should have asked a long time ago.

"Yeah?" she replied.

"Will you go on a date with me?"

chapter nineteen done! what are your thoughts? i know, it's very rushed. i'm kind of thinking of winding this story down. maybe i'll end it at chapter thirty or twenty five.

what do you guys think? should i end it at chapter 30 or 25? be honest.
