BY THE TIME THE doorbell rang, Katelyn had Aphmau ready. Even before then, Katelyn had already made her a tea, which Aphmau nervously finished and continued to stay paranoid for the next fifteen minutes.
So when Aaron was at the door and Aphmau was nervously dancing around, Katelyn was playing some game on her phone and munching away on some snack that she stole from Aphmau's fridge.
The two stood up and approached the front door, Aphmau nervously bitting her lip. Taking a deep and shaky breath, she pulled away any thoughts that may ruin her night, and opened the door.
Katelyn waved goodbye to Aphmau and walked past them, turning back around to Aphmau and giving her a thumbs up. As soon as Katelyn had left, Aph turned her focus back to the boy in front of her.
"H-hi," she smiled gently at Aaron and hoped she wouldn't come across as nervous, all though that was the only thing she was feeling at the moment.
Aaron was wearing an outfit that wasn't as elegant as the one which he wore to Prom, but nonetheless it wasn't something you would wear everyday as something casual. "Wow." Aph said, taking in what he was wearing.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer," Aaron quipped flirtatiously, giving Aph a wink. "And you look 'wow' too."
Aphmau's face heated up at his words. "T-thank you, are you ready?"
Aaron nodded his head nonchalantly, but the look of eagerness plastered behind a mask was still visible. "Let's go,"

"Are you ready to look?" Aaron questioned, Aph feeling his warm hands wrap around the tie in the back of the blindfold and began to untie it slowly.
"Yup!" she exclaimed with her tone resembling that of a child on Christmas Day; impatiently awaiting to open their presents.
The blindfold unraveled around her head and Aphmau childishly looked around her surroundings to see what the surprise was.
It was a park, and in the slight distance was a blanket that was placed neatly onto the grass covered ground. "Oh my..." Aph drawled.
"Well?" Aaron began to walk over to her side of the car. "What'cha think?"
"I..." her voice drifted away quickly as a figure moved near the blanket. "I love it."
"Well, come on then! Let's hope the food isn't too cold." Aaron cheekily grabbed ahold of Aphmau's hand and began to pull her in the direction of the picnic area.
The figure grew closer and closer, along with Aphmau's uncertainty of whom the strange person could be.
"Umm, Aaron?" she cocked up an eyebrow questioningly. "Who is that?"
"Don't worry, Aphmau, you'll see,"
The figure transformed into the familiar face of Gene. He had on a vest and bow tie, holding up some soda in his hands, as if he were a server at a fancy restaurant.
"Welcome to Gene's Restaurant!" he cheered proudly, showing them to the picnic.
"What a creative name." Aphmau teased as she grabbed a napkin from out of Gene's hand.
"Thank you," he smiled. "It took me a whole ten minutes to think of."
Aph and Aaron laughed, shutting their eyes tightly as Gene poured the two some Sprite.
The date went perfectly, and the two loved every minute of it. With Gene's hilarious banter and Aaron's genuine awesomeness, this date was shaping up to be Aphmau's best date, though this was her first.
At around eight thirty, Aphmau thanked Gene and began to pack up. By eight forty, they were already in the car and on their way home to Aphmau's house.
The car ride was comfortably silent and peaceful. That was, until Aaron broke the quietness. "Thank you, Aphmau."
She smiled and glanced at him, squeezing his hand. "For what?"
"For giving me a chance." he kept his eyes glued to the road and every couple of seconds, he turned to face Aph.
"Thank you too, for giving me a chance and all." she grinned awkwardly, not really good at these types of conversations, not like they occurred often.
Aaron pulled into her house's driveway. To say that the two should have paid more attention to the other cars in the driveway would be underestimating what was about to happen.
"I really like you, Aphmau." Aaron stated, grabbing her hand tightly as they walked up to the pathway that lead up to the front door.
"I really like you too, Aaron."
As they reached the front door, the two stared into each other's eyes, searching for something they didn't usually look for.
Love.
And to say that either of them didn't see it would be practically illegal. Aaron placed his hand at the bottom of Aphmau's waist, and Aph raised her arms to his cheeks. Their faces inched closer, at an extremely slow rate. Aphmau parted her lips and placed them against Aaron's.
That was when the door creaked open and a voice was heard from the other side.
"Look who we have here."
