THE STRONG WIND WHISTLED rhythmically to a nonexistent beat as James' chest heaved up and down in a nonchalant manner, though the way he held himself at the moment said otherwise.
"Hello there, Father." Aphmau bit harshly, squeezing Aaron's hand for reassurance.
"How was your date, daughter dearest?" he replied eerily calmly.
"It was fine," she smiled, though not for long. "Until I saw you."
"I'm glad you think of me like that," he cheered sardonically. "Now, if you'll excuse me, Aaron, I'm going to get Aph in the house then call the police. You remember our deal, don't'cha?"
Aaron froze and attempted to play it of like it was nothing when, in reality, he was panicking. "Isn't that blackmail, father dearest?" Aphmau cut in.
"Well, you're not apart of this conversation, Aphie. Go to your room." he barked.
"Yeah, um, I'm not a toddler. Aaron is my...is my..." her words began to frost away from one another like a melting iceberg.
"He is your what?" James demanded.
Her heartstrings were aching and she couldn't think properly. Crap. She thought to herself.
The moment of silence was a signal to James that they were more than friends. His smile deepened and his plan began to fall back together.
"Boyfriend? Friends with benefits? What?" he hissed.
"Shut up! Get the hell out of my life, you sick bastard!" Aphmau snapped. "If you're trying to act like a father figure to me right now, I don't need it! I want you to get the hell out of my house. Why do you come into my life when everything is going just fine and you go and ruin it?!"
She began to hyperventilate, but kept on going. "Aaron and I may not have established what our relationship is currently, but you have no right at all to tell us what we are. You haven't even been there for me when I needed you most and you're pushing someone who I love away from me. I've given up on you because you gave up on me."
Tears were forming in her eyes. "Now, please just leave me alone." she muttered.
"What's going on here?!" Silvana rushed over to the scene.
He scowled and raised his hand, firmly slapping it against Aphmau's cheek. "You aren't the daughter I knew those years ago."
"Don't touch her!" Aaron's voice boomed.
"Jameson Mendel! How dare you lay hands on my daughter! I thought you had changed. You showed improvement compared to those many years ago. I don't want to say I knew better than to bring you into my house, because I thought you changed. Now, get the hell out of our house. I don't care where you go, just stay away from here."
"No can do, Sil."
"Don't call me that." she bit. "And, you can leave, and you will."
"Why would I?" he queried with a gross smirk attached to the uneven shaving job that was his old and wrinkly face.
"Because I just called the cops. Looks like the tables have turned." Aaron smiled knowingly.
"Oh no! I'm so scared! Too bad I know the head of the police."
"Actually, I've been doing some research. It turns out that he was fired for illegal gambling that apparently you were apart of too. Could it be that you were here because you were trying to stay hidden from the authorities?"
Aphmau's jaw dropped and James froze. "How the he-"
"You may as well give up now. There's no where to hide."
A distant sound of police sirens was heard and the flicker of red and blue lights came into view. James realised he was done for.
The police parked unevenly and sprinted over to the group. "We're here. And you're under arrest for illegal gambling, Mr. Mendel."

After James was locked up, Silvanna and Aphmau were still extremely confused at what had just gone down.
"Aaron," Silvanna began, getting his attention over to her. "How did you find out all of that stuff?"
"It's a long story," he sighed as Aphmau walked into the room. "Let's just say that I wanted to protect someone who needed to be shielded from their past."
