08: Partners
THE RAIN THAT TRICKLED down below the window pane seemed to best represent Aphmau's emotion toward anyone or anything.
She currently sat with her head resting on the table and in between her arms. She was watching as the water that fell from the sky hit the windows and made a soft clank onto the glass.
Aph was lucky to be sitting close to the wall, or else she wouldn't be able to hear the sickly sweet rhythm of the sky's tears hit the floor.
The weirdest part of this was that she was currently in her favourite class, Free Writing. Well, it wasn't really the weirdest thing, but it still was strange that she didn't feel any inspiration for writing nor was she happy to be in school at all.
"You will be assigned a project you must complete by the end of the semester." the teacher began. The class groaned, but Aphmau decided not to make any noise.
"I will give you partners, and you will sit with them until the end of the project. Once I finish telling who you will be with, I will explain what the project is about." the teacher continued.
"Travis and Kawaii-Chan." the two students shuffled to the table where they were assigned.
"Dante and Adam." the other two students copied the previous ones.
"Aphmau and Katelyn."
Aphmau gulped and stood up. She wobbled over to her new partner and took her seat immediately. Her partner was a girl with baby blue hair and eyes. Just by looking at her you could tell she had an interesting personality. She turned to Aph and gave her a smile, closing her eyes and let wrinkles take over the corners of her eyelids
When she opened her eyes, Aphmau could see the fire in her eyes. She immediately could tell she would be interesting to work with. The blue haired girl stuck her hand out for Aph to shake.
Aphmau shook it lightly and tugged a piece of her black hair out of her eyes. She really didn't want to deal with any humans, but being at school kind of didn't help.
"I'm Katelyn. Nice to meet you." the girl grinned toothily.
"I'm Aphmau." she replied, not giving enthusiasm in her voice like she usually did.
Today was going to be a long day.
