Joe let out a low breath, "The more people who know, the more chance Wells is gonna find out we're on to him. I mean, what if one of them slips up? Or panics? Or what if..."
Barry raised an eyebrow, "What?"
"What if they're not on our side?" Joe finished.
Spencer shook her head, "No. I know them. They're not involved in whatever he's planning. He's been their boss and mentor as long as he's been mine and I've been in the dark too!"
"Maybe you don't know them as well as you think you do?" Joe suggested, "Like you said, you didn't know about Wells."
Spencer huffed out a disbelieving breath. She knew them. Better than Wells, too. They couldn't be on his side. She shook her head, and without saying anything else, she walked away from both Joe and Barry. The latter went to stop her but decided against it.
The blonde wandered around the crime scene, careful to stay out of people's way, until she noticed Eddie off to the side. She took steps closer to him until she was standing in front of him.
"Hey-o, Eddie-o!" She smiled, catching his attention.
He looked up at her and gave her a slight smile, "Hey, Spencer."
Her eyebrows knitted together, "Why so serious?"
He shook his head, "It's nothing."
She tilted so she could nudge his arm with her elbow. "Come on, we're buds. You can tell me."
Eddie looked in her eyes, obviously knowing she was a good person to talk to. He let out a deep breath, "Ever since I was let in on Barry's secret, I don't know, I've felt like I've lost my spot as Joe's partner. He's got Barry helping him with all these crimes like he doesn't even need me."
The side of Spencer's lips curled up in a half smile, "Aw, Eddie, you know you can never be replaced. That's not what he's doing. Joe himself isn't really doing the work when he enlists Barry's help. He's just being lazy. You know I love and respect the guy, but come on."
Eddie let out a chuckle at the teasing comment, the jab at his partner already making him feel a little better. "But it's not only that. I've also had to lie to Iris about what happened to Mason Bridge and now I'm keeping all of this from her."
"Hey," She reached out and placed her hands on his shoulders to level with him, despite him towering over her, "Remember, it's all to protect her. Keep telling yourself that it's to keep Iris safe." He nodded, making her smile again. "Good."
"Spencer, there you are!" Another voice called out getting closer to them. The pair looked up to find Barry walking up to them. "I was gonna give in and head to STAR Labs so we can keep Wells from growing weary."
Spencer nodded, "Good idea." She turned back to Eddie who seemed to slightly revert back to his previous self-consciousness. "Hey, you call me if you ever need to talk, okay?"
His mood shifted at that, throwing her his classic winning smile, "Thanks."
She returned the gesture, sending him a wave before following Barry until they were a safe distance away so they could flash to STAR Labs.

"Death by apitoxin," Caitlin announced after getting the results from the blood test.
"Honeybee venom." Dr. Wells nodded at the information, sending up some graphics of bees to the monitor.
"Bees. Why did it have to be bees?" Cisco muttered, a large frown on his face, "Y'all, I don't do bees. Ain't nobody got time for bees."
"Puh-reach," Spencer nodded beside him.
