"But when a honeybee stings, the stingers are literally torn from their abdomen, and they die," Wells stated.
"But there were no stingers in the body and no dead bees in the car," Spencer told them. Off their curious looks about her knowledge of the crime scene, she shrugged innocently, "I was feeling nostalgic about my time at CCPD. Barry let me tag along."
"Uh-huh," Cisco scoffed, sending her a weird look which she elected to ignore.
"A honeybee can only deposit .1 milligrams of apitoxin when it releases its stinger," Caitlin said.
"And yet, Ms. Kang was found with enough venom in her system to kill a herd of elephants," Wells went on, reading the case report from the monitor, "It appears not only is a meta-human controlling these bees but also increasing their toxicity."
"Bees communicate by releasing pheromones. Maybe this meta's controlling them through secretion?" Barry suggested.
"Anyone want to join me in getting a beekeeper suit?" Cisco asked, his eyes narrowing in fear.
"I'm pretty sure I can outrun a bee," Barry smirked.
"Just don't run into a lake," Another voice spoke up from the entrance to the cortex.
Everyone's heads turned to the voice to find none other than Felicity Smoak standing before them.
"Bees will wait for you to come up for air and then they'll sting you," She went on, "Discovery Channel. Turns out there's a lot to discover."
"Felicity, what are you doing here?" Barry questioned as everyone threw her smiles.
She gave them a bright smile of her own, "Can you guys come outside for a sec?"
~
"What exactly are we waiting for, Ms. Smoak?" Dr. Wells questioned as the whole group stood outside of STAR Labs.
"Up there," she pointed somewhere in the sky, drawing everyone's gaze in that direction.
They noticed a small figure flying around and Spencer squinted her eyes to see it.
"Is that a bird?" Caitlin asked.
Cisco shook his head, "It's a plane."
Suddenly the "object" grew closer, revealing it was actually a person in some sort of suit. The person crashed into the ground in front of them, smashing the concrete under its feet.
"It's my boyfriend," Felicity told them, a little shaken up from the landing.
"Does Oliver look different to you?" Spencer whispered to Barry so only he could hear.
He nudged her playfully, stifling a laugh.
"Hi," the man in the suit greeted with a wave, "I'm Ray."
~
The crew relocated back into the lab, where Caitlin and Spencer immediately began running tests on this Ray guy.
"Ah, well, my ears popped, so that's something," Ray smiled, leaving the med-bay to reenter the cortex when they were finished.
"You're lucky you didn't break your neck," Spencer cringed and she and Caitlin followed him.
"What is it with billionaires being superheroes?" Caitlin commented.
"So have you picked a name yet?" Cisco asked Ray after observing his suit.
"I'm kind of partial to The Atom." He smirked, making a shrinking motion with his hand.
Cisco squinted at him slightly, "You married to that, or?"
