Spencer's eyebrows raised at her friends sing-song tone, finally turning to the brunette, "I think you are thinking too much into things. Barry and I are just friends, like we have always been."

"I don't know," Caitlin smiles playfully, "To me, things seem to be different around you two."

Spencer bit her lip, trying not to read into things too much herself. Obviously she was aware of the extra time she was spending with Barry- but that was because of the whole Wells thing. However, she couldn't fight the idea that something had been changing between them. Barry has been spending a lot of time with her lately- wanting to include her in this plan that didn't include their other friends and always positioning himself beside her in the lab. That didn't mean anything significant, did it? And wasn't he supposed to be dating Linda anyway?

She didn't have much more time to linger on the subject when an alert popped up on her screen. She sprang into action, calling for Cisco to rejoin them in the cortex from where he was working with Ray.

"Killer bees are at it again," Spencer sighed, pinpointing their location.

"Get ahold of Barry," Wells told her.

The blonde did just that, sending him a message on his phone. Soon enough, he was zapping in and out of the cortex to retrieve his suit. After a few more moments, Barry let out a sigh.

"I'm too late."

"Where are the bees?" Cisco asked, using both his tablet and looking at the large monitor.

"I don't know," Barry stated, "There's no sign of them." A few seconds passed before Barry spoke up again, a slight buzzing mixing with his voice. "Found them." He quickly raced out of the room, trying to escape the bees. "How do I get out of here?" Barry questioned anxiously, the bees still sounding close.

"Take the northeast crossway," Cisco instructed, "It's the quickest way out of the building."

"Guys, they're everywhere," Barry shouted, "I'm surrounded."

The listened with baited breath as Barry struggled, the buzzing noise growing louder before it disappeared altogether.

Wells looked over Barry's vitals and sighed, "He's going into cardiac arrest."

Spencer's eyes widened at the news, feeling helpless as she was stuck in the cortex.

Suddenly, Cisco's phone began ringing and he raced to answer it, putting it on speaker.

"Cisco! Barry doesn't have a pulse!" Joe's panicked voice rang out.

"Step away from him," he immediately told Joe.

"What? Why?"

"We need to jumpstart his heart," Cisco explained as he ran towards his computer, "There's a defibrillator in the suit."

"Charge it to 360 joules," Spencer told them, her stomach in pain from the nerves she was feeling

"Charging in three, two, one," Wells muttered, hitting a button on the keyboard.

When nothing happened, Spencer ran her hands through her hair, "Hit him again. 400 joules."

"Charging in three, two, one."

Suddenly Barry breathed heavily, gasping for air. Spencer let out a sigh, placing in head in her hands. Everyone else in the room visibly relaxed as Well, noticing the change in his vitals.

Joe immediately brought Barry back to the lab after that to make sure everything else with him was okay. Spencer volunteered to be the one to check over him while Caitlin and eventually Felicity watched over.
