Saving the Broken (Connor x Deviant!Reader)

You looked around. You were on a bridge that went over the water. You looked out. It was beautiful. You smiled as the cool night air gently blew into your face. You stood there as cars drove by. You felt happy. You didn't care if you were alone. You felt free. 

As you stood there you stared out at the water and then your gaze drifted to the sky. You smiled. The stars were bright and it was a full moon. You loved it. It was peaceful. It was breathtaking. 

Soon, something caught your attention. The rumbling of cars behind you had stopped. You turned and found that no more cars were driving by. You were confused. You looked along both sides of the bridge. Nothing. No cars, no people, not even birds were around. You were confused. The only things you could hear were the wind and the distant splash of the water below. You looked around. Where is everyone? Why did everything just stop? You wondered.

"(Y/n)!" You heard a voice. You looked around. 

"Hello?"

"(Y/n)!" You grew worried now. 

"Hello!? What's going on!? Where are you!?" You called louder. You suddenly felt the wind pick up. It started out at a bearable level, but then it started waging against you. You tried to keep your footing. You kept hearing your name being shouted over the howling of the wind pushing you back. You were pushed back by a powerful gust of it. You yelped in surprise. You expected to be greeted by the ground, but your heal got caught and you tripped. You felt wind rushing past your body. You felt horrified as you realized you were falling. You tried to scream, but you could only cry in silence as you fell down, going faster and faster toward the water. 

"(Y/N)!!!" You heard somebody screaming your name and you tried to scream out for help, but you voice was nonexistent. They kept screaming, but the wind began to block them out. You could hear the crashing of the waves grow louder. They were no longer calm and peaceful, but violent and restlessly like an animal ravaged with hunger.

You hit the water hard. Sheering pain ripped through your body starting from your back. It stung fiercely. The ice cold water felt like a hundred knives stabbing into your body all at once. You opened your mouth to attempt a scream, but water filled your mouth and soon your entire body. You, against all odds, were choking. You were drowning! 

Suddenly, the water tasted even more salty and it grew warm. You struggled to swim upward. It was dark. Which way was up? You needed to get to the surface, but everything was turned around. You flailed your arms frantically, trying to find any possible way out of the madness around you. 

You suddenly felt a new wave of pain. This time it felt like fire. You opened your mouth to scream again, but you were cut off with another lungful of liquid. It was then you realized what that taste was. It wasn't water at all! It was blood! The taste kept switching from human blood and blue blood. You you terrified. Tears rushed down your face, if that was possible under water or whatever you were in. In one last desperate attempt to do anything, you opened your mouth and screamed.

Your body shot forward. You felt cold and wet. You were breathing hard. You looked around. You were back in your shared room Oreon was sleeping with his back to you. You looked over yourself. While androids couldn't physically sweat all that much, you seemed to be sweating a little. You felt cold and your were still shaking in fear. Your heart was racing and you felt something wet on your face. You reached up and touched it. You were...crying? 

You broke down. You hugged your knees close to your body and tried to silence your sobs. You wept, curled up in a feeble little ball on your bed. You couldn't tell how long you were like that, but a soft voice brought you out of it.

"(Y/n)?" You gasped as your head shot up and looked over. Oreon was awake and he looked worried. "(Y/n)..." He repeated, sounding more worried than questionable this time. He got up and quickly came over to you. He hugged you, sitting on the bed with you. You curled up into his chest, your body still shaking and wracked with sobs. His hand gently ran through your hair as he tried his best to comfort you. "Shh, it's okay. It's okay. You're alright. I'm right here, okay? Calm down." He said gently. You kept crying, shoving yourself deeper into his embrace. He sighed. "(Y/n), listen to me. I'm here. You don't have to be scared. You're safe. I promise." He told you. You began to cam down as he gently rocked your body back and forth. You soon stopped crying so hard and your breaths became steady. "Better?" He asked. You sniffed and nodded. He pulled back. "What happened?" He asked.

Tell Oreon?

You began to tell him about your nightmare. He listened intently to every word you spoke, his blue eyes focused on you and you alone. When you finished, he let out a sigh while closing his eyes.

"(Y/n), I don't know why you had that nightmare, but I promise you that's all it was. I will never let anything like that happen to you, okay? You can trust me." He told you, hugging you. He pulled back and you looked at his kind smile and shimmering eyes. "You can always trust me." You smiled, your tears ceasing as you latched onto him.

"Thank you, Oreon." You whimpered with a quivering smile on your lips. He continued to hush you, holding yo close to him while going back to gently rocking your body back and forth.

"You don't have to thank me, (Y/n). It's alright." He said. You smiled.

"I wish I could do more than just thank you." You replied. He smiled lightly at you.

"I know, but you never have to. That's why I'm here, okay? I'll always be here for you. I promise." He said.

"Oreon, why are you so nice to me?" You asked.

"Because you deserve a friend. I guess that friend has to be me. Even if nobody else cares, I always will, okay? I'll always care about you." He said. You smiled.

"I'll always care about you too, Oreon." You said. He chuckled.

"Alright. We'll call it even then, okay?" You chuckled.

"Okay."
