You ran as fast as you could. You didn't understand what was happening. There were two things that were propelling you; adrenaline and fear. You were scared and confused. An android tripped and fell. You hurried over to help them.
"What's going on!?" You asked. She looked terrified.
"RUN!!!" She screamed and took off. You were confused even more making your stress and fear rise higher.
"YOU! DON'T MOVE!" You whipped around. Soldiers! Before you could react they shot you and everything went dark.
You screamed at the top of your lungs and you shot forward. Tears rushed down your face and you breathing was rapid and shaky. Your friend looked alarmed as did the other androids in the area. The boys told the other androids that they would handle it while the girls rushed to comfort you.
"Shh, it's okay, (Y/n). There's nothing to be afraid of." Jaden calmly insisted. You looked at her and began to calm down.
"What happened?" Claira asked.
"I-I was...running. Everyone was panicking and running like their lives depended on it. I was lost and confused, but then...I was shot and everything went dark. Then I woke up to you all." You explained. They looked at each other, concern glimmering in their eyes.
"It was just a bad dream." Roxy insisted.
"Yeah, you're fine." Dell agreed. You breathed in and out before looking back at your friends.
"I know. It's probably because of what happened to Markus before. I'm sure it's just my nerves getting the better of me. I'm alright now." You told them. They smiled and nodded.
"Well, just tell us if you need anything, okay?" Jaden said.
"Okay. I will." You replied and stood up. "I'm gonna go talk to Markus. We better plan our next move soon before all of the androids outside of Jericho are destroyed. I better be there for it. Markus would probably want me there." You said.
"Told you she's a big shot now." Roxy whispered teasingly to Nelly. You turned with a grin.
"I'm not a big shot, Roxy! I told you that last time!" You said.
"Whatever you say, boss!" Roxy replied. You rolled your eyes.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. I gotta go. Later guys." You said.
"See ya!" Nelly said happily, waving her hand around in the air like a child. You chuckled and headed off. Your smile dropped as you walked away. As much as your group of friends could make the guards at Buckingham Palace crack a smile at the very least, it was getting nearly impossible for you to keep it on. You pushed the darkness away, forcing yourself to remain neutral.
You gently slid past androids as you made your way up to Markus. He was alone for now, but you shrugged and walked in anyway. You figured he could use somebody to talk to. Usually, it was North, but she wasn't around at the moment.
"Hey, Markus. Why are you glaring at the floor? Afraid it's gonna fall out from under you?" You asked with a grin. He looked up and chuckled a little.
"Very funny, (Y/n)." He said.
"Thanks. I always did want to be a comedian." You said, making him chuckle again.
"What's up?" He asked.
"Not much. I was just coming up to see if you had a plan, or am I interrupting the process as I speak?" You said. He sighed.
"You're fine, but no. I haven't worked out everything yet." He said. You frowned.
"Right. Well, what's the main idea then?" You asked.
"I think I should try to talk to them one last time. I don't want to resort to blood being spilled on either side, even though I'm sure we aren't done getting shot at just yet." He muttered the last part.
"Hey, you're a better leader than you know, Markus. I know you can do this. Plus you got me, Simon, Josh, and North to back you up. You have all of Jericho following you too! I know it's a lot to carry, but think of it this way. A train is run by a conductor, but every part of the train has it's own job to do. Just the conductor is a lot less helpful. He needs the cargo, the people, and even the train itself. What's the conductor without the train?" You said.
"Yeah, well, a train had to follow the railroad tracks. Its path is already set. Where do I go from here?" He asked.
"Well, there may be a path to follow, but that doesn't mean it's the only path to take. After all, ever heard of crossroads?" You asked. He looked at you. "You have a path ahead of you, but it's up to you to decide which way to go. I know you'll pick the right one, Markus. I'm with you all the way." You said. He smiled a little.
"Thanks, (Y/n)."
"Don't mention it. I'm gonna go round up the others. That should give you a little bit longer to think here. Meet you up top?" You said.
"Yeah. I'll be there in a bit." He agreed. You nodded and headed out. You began to look around for Simon, Josh, and North. Where would they be? You wondered. You looked around for a bit before running into Josh. You greeted each other and both stopped to talk.
"So, Markus said anything about what he thinks?" He asked.
"You'll find out soon enough. We're all meeting up top. I talked to him. I'm just going around to find everybody. It'll give him a few more minutes to think." You said.
"Is he stressed?" He asked.
"No, not really. He's just thinking." You replied. Josh nodded.
"Makes sense. Guess he would need a few minutes." He agreed. You nodded.
"Yeah."
"Well, I'll meet you up there. Thanks for telling me. See you soon, (Y/n)." Josh said.
"See ya soon, Josh." You replied and you both split. You kept looking around. Soon, you found North.
"Hey, North." You greeted.
"Hey, (Y/n). What's up?" She asked.
"There's about to be a meeting up on the top deck. I was looking for you so I could tell you." You replied. She nodded.
"Thanks. I'll start heading up. You coming?" She asked.
"No, still gotta find Simon. I'll meet you there." You said.
"See you up there, (Y/n)." She said and left. You kept looking around for Simon. You ran into Jax. He was talking with Simon actually. You walked up to the two boys.
"Hey, guys." They turned.
"Hello, (Y/n)." Simon greeted.
"Hey, (Y/n)." Jax said.
"Do you need something?" Simon asked.
"Uh, yeah. You." You replied.
"Me?" He asked.
"There's a meeting up on the top deck of the ship. North and Josh are already heading up. I was gonna find you and then go see if Markus had headed up yet." You said. He nodded.
"Never thought I'd see the day timid (Y/n) became a big deal to androids." Jax teased with a chuckle. You rolled your eyes.
"I lost my timid awhile ago." You remembered the anger, shock, grief, and feeling of betrayal all over again. You pushed it aside, focusing on the two men before you.
"Well, we'd best head up. I'll talk to you later, Jax." Simon said.
"Later, Simon." Jax replied with a wave and he walked off, shoving his hands into the front pockets of his jeans.
"Shall we?" Simon asked.
"Sure thing, Simon." You replied and you both headed up. You remembered your dream. You wondered why you had been in Jericho instead of out on the street. You shrugged it off. It was a dream, that's all.
