Connor's POV
I walked to Hank's place. When I arrived I rang the doorbell. I heard Sumo bark and I smiled. Sumo was a good dog. I loved playing with him. He really seemed to like me too. hank opened the door soon enough and he smiled at me.
"Hey, Connor! Come in, son!" He said.
"Afternoon, Lieutenant!" I greeted with a smile.
"Ah, Christ sake's kid, just call me Hank. I've told you this 20 times now." He said.
"Actually you've told me that 9 times now." I corrected.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. What's new with you, Connor?" He asked as we both sat down on the couch together. Sumo hopped up on my lap and I pet the big dog as his tail wagged slightly.
"Not much. (Y/n) and I are adapting well to living together. She says she's anxious for things to go back to normal though. I guess it is quiet without the humans. I can understand why she wishes for things to start going back to normal. Not many of the androids from Jericho agree though. I think most are still wary of the humans." I explained.
"Makes sense. After Jericho going down and the last stand you guys did, I'd be pretty nervous about that as well if I were an android." Hank said, taking a sip of his drink. I nodded in agreement as I continued to pet Sumo. "What do you think is gonna happen after the humans return?" He asked.
"I'm not sure, but I believe Markus will be able to negotiate with the high court of humans. I don't know what will be allowed over time, but I hope that it will allow (Y/n) and myself to stay together." I said. Hank nodded.
"You and me both, Connor. You two deserve each other." Hank said. I smiled.
"Thank you, Hank." I said.
"So, what have you both been doing with your time? I see Claira got her hands on you. Like the new wardrobe?" He asked.
"(Y/n) helped as well, and yes, I'm comfortable with it. I'm glad they see me as one of them. After what happened I wasn't sure they would." I replied.
"Yeah. But Connor, I've been meaning to ask you something." Hank said.
"Of course, Hank. What is it?" I asked.
"That night you both disappeared. What happened?" He asked. I froze. I didn't know if I should tell Hank about (Y/n)'s suicidal tendencies.
"I...Lieutenant, I'm not sure if I should say." I replied.
"Connor, I'm not going to tell anybody, but if (Y/n) forgave you that quick something huge must've happened. You can't cover that up." Hank said. I sighed. I didn't say anything. Hank took that as a no. "Well, can't blame me for asking-"
"She tried to kill herself." I said. He stopped. He looked shocked.
"What?" He asked. "Why?" I felt guilt. I remembered how much I had hurt her. How I had been the one to change her for the worse. It was my fault. "Connor?"
"It was my fault, Hank. She tried to jump off the bridge and drown herself. I was fast enough to save her, but she was so close to dying. I was scared. I felt so horrible. It was because of me. All of it was because of me." I said.
"Connor, calm down, son. It's okay. You didn't mean it. That was her choice, not yours. Everything's alright now, okay? She forgives you. You can't cling onto what could've been. If anyone has made me realize that it's you. Connor, you know about my son. I have to accept that fact and you've helped me with that. Now let me help you with this. That was not your fault. You didn't mean for it to happen and you're sorry about it. That's all that matters now, okay?" He told me. I smiled at him and hugged him. Sumo had already hopped off my lap to go eat. Hank looked a little stunned, but he hugged back. "It's alright, son." I smiled.
"Thank you...Dad." I heard him chuckle.
"Well, what are father's for?" He asked. I pulled back and smiled.
"Lieutenant...is it okay if I ask you a personal question?" I said.
"What is it this time?" He asked.
"Is it okay if I can be called...Connor Anderson?" I asked, semi-nervous. He smiled.
"Yeah. Of course you can, son." I smiled happily. We hugged again and after that I said I should get home. Hank said goodbye to me and told me to come by again soon. I told him that I would and then I headed for home.
As I walked home, I remembered the walk I'd had with (Y/n). I smiled. I would never forget that night. I never wanted to either. I kept walking and I soon arrived back home. I walked inside. I hung up my winter jacket that (Y/n) had picked out for me. I took off my shoes and I stood up. I didn't hear the water running, so (Y/n) clearly wasn't it the shower anymore.
"(Y/n)! I'm home! Are you here, love?" I called upstairs. I heard footsteps come from the living room.
"Connor!" She said with a smile. She hugged me and I smiled, returning the gesture. "How was Hank's?" She asked, kissing my nose. I smiled at the warm feeling that it gave me.
"It was fine. He's the same as always." I replied. She nodded. I heard more footsteps. "Is someone here?" I asked. She looked a little nervous.
"Um, well, yes." She said.
"Who is it?" I asked.
"Well, an old friend. Listen, um, it might be a bit of a surprise, Connor. I talked to him though and he says everything is cool now. He's going to be staying with us for a while." She said. I was confused.
"What?" I asked.
"Come on." She said. I followed her into the living room and I was shocked. It can't be. Oh no...
"Hey, Connor."
"Oreon..." I was too shocked to move.
"He was in the basement. I never told you about it because I didn't want you to find him. I was going to do something about it while you were gone, but...he kind of woke up?" She said with a nervous smile. Oreon was staring at me with no emotion in his eyes. It was like death was staring me in the face. I could see the coldness in his eyes.
"Hope you don't mind me staying, Connor. I understand you're the only two androids living here now. There should be plenty of space, right?" He asked. I felt very uncomfortable.
"Yes. Of course." I replied. (Y/n) looked relieved.
"Then it's settled! I'm glad you two have no hard feelings. It's all in the past right?" She said.
"Yeah. It's about time we made amends, right Connor?" He asked evenly. I knew I only had one choice for an answer.
"Yeah. Amends." I agreed.
"Alright, you're room is all set up, Oreon! You should go get some rest! We'll just be out here if you need anything!" (Y/n) said.
"Right." He replied. Then, (Y/n) gasped.
"Oh shoot! I forgot to hang up my towels! I better go do that!" She said and took off for the bathroom. As soon as I turned back to Oreon, he was right in front of me.
"Listen, Connor. I care about (Y/n) and she's been through enough. I'll be watching you. Make one more wrong move. I dare you." He growled before stalking off to his room. I felt fear. I knew if I got into a fight with him again it would end badly for both of us. What am I going to do? I had no more options now. I was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
