You stayed in the locker room. You felt so horrible. Claira is gonna be mad that the clothes are ruined. You thought. Oreon is probably annoyed that he has to come here and help me. Why am I such a burden?
Connor's POV
I saw that (Y/n)'s computer was on. I knew she was here, but I was curious where she was. I saw that Gavin was sitting alone with a coffee. I wondered if he had seen her. I walked over. He looked up and instantly rolled his eyes.
"Can't you take a hint?" He growled. I didn't really know how to respond to that.
"I was wondering if you had seen Lieutenant (L/n)." I said. He chuckled to himself.
"Check the locker room. I think she had some issues with her clothes." He said. I was confused. I went to the locker room and I saw her there...crying. I hurried over, concerned.
"(Y/n)?" I asked. She gasped and looked over, her eyes wide. "(Y/n)..what happened? Why are you upset?" I asked. She looked down, tears still flowing out of her eyes. I wasn't very good at comforting people. I decided to try hugging her. I pulled her in close to my chest. I felt a little awkward, but, to my surprise, she hugged back.
"C-Connor...h-he dumped it on me." She whimpered quietly.
"What?" I asked. She pulled back, sniveling and overwhelmed with emotions.
"G-Gavin took the coffee I was getting for Hank when he arrived and he spilled it on me. I-it got in my eye and all over my shirt. I'm so stupid. Claira is gonna be so mad that I ruined the shirt and Oreon has to come bring me a clean one and I'm such an inconvenience for everyone." She blurted out bursting into more tears. I frowned.
"You are not an inconvenience. I'm sure they won't be upset." I assured her.
"But-"
"(Y/n), I must advise you to calm down. Your stress levels are very high." I said. She stared at me.
"I-I don't understand, Connor. I-I thought you weren't supposed to care about things like this. Why do you care about me of all people?" She asked sadly. I didn't really know how to answer that. Why did I care? This had nothing to do with my mission and it didn't have much of an effect on myself.
"I..I don't know. I thought..I thought I should help you." I answered. She smiled a little. She hugged me.
"Thank you, Connor." She whispered. I felt warmed by her words. I felt...something inside of myself that I couldn't describe.
*Software Instability*
I hugged her. I wanted to stay like that. Just us. I didn't know why I liked this. I liked being near her. It felt nice. We stayed like that for a long time until I heard another voice.
"(Y/n)?" She looked over and so did I. I saw a young man there with white hair and blue eyes. She smiled.
"Oreon!" She exclaimed. I felt slightly disappointed as she pulled away from my embrace. She hugged the man and he hugged back.
"I'm here." He told her. He lifted her chin with his finger so she was looking him in the eyes. The gesture made me...uncomfortable. "Are you alright? What happened?" He asked.
"It's not important. I'll tell you later. Did you bring something I can change into?" She asked.
"I called Claira and asked if I could borrow one of her shirt for you. She said you can use this for today." He said and handed her a spare shirt. It was then he noticed the stains. He frowned.
"That's why you were so upset? You spilled?" He asked. She frowned. She didn't say anything. Oreon frowned too. "I'm missing something, aren't I?" He said.
"Gavin spilled it on her." I said. He looked over and spotted me. It was just I realized he was taller than me. I didn't really care, but as I studied him...I realized that he was rather attractive. I began to piece it together.
"Who?" Oreon asked.
"Gavin. Another detective." (Y/n) muttered. I saw Oreon's face darken with anger.
"What does he look like?" Oreon growled. (Y/n) looked surprised by his anger.
"Oreon, forget it. It will only make it worse. Just...give me the shirt." She muttered. He frowned at her.
"(Y/n) are you alright?" He asked. She didn't say anything and she refused to look at anything but the floor. He sighed. "How many times do I have to convince you that you can talk to me?" He asked.
"I don't understand you. Either of you." She said.
"What?" We both said at the same time.
"Why do you both care!? I don't get it! I'm not worth your concern! I'm not worth your time! So why do both of you care!? I'm just a helpless idiot who can't stick up for herself and runs away crying at the tiniest thing!" She said. We were both surprised by her words. "So why? Why do you care what I feel?" She asked. I hugged her before Oreon had the chance.
"You are not helpless or an idiot. You're very smart and I believe that you are worth every minute." I told her. She hugged my back. She didn't say anything, but she didn't have to. Oreon stayed out of the hug, shifting uncomfortably.
"So, um, you should probably get changed (Y/n)." He said. She pulled away.
"Oh, right. Thanks Oreon." She said, taking the shirt. He smiled warmly at her. My LED went yellow. I didn't like how cozy he was with her. I didn't understand why I felt uncomfortable when he was so nice to her. That was a good thing, wasn't it? I didn't want him to be mean to her after all.
We both left the locker room to give her some privacy. As we left we both kept glancing at each other.
"So, are you Connor?" He asked. I faced him.
"Yes. I have come to undrstand that you are the 'Oreon' Lieutenant (L/n) has mentioned before." I said.
"The same." He replied, looking own at me.
"You are very close to (Y/n), am I correct?" I asked.
"Yes. Why is that relevant?" He asked.
"I must gain information about (Y/n) if I am to work with her. I was simply asking for the benefit of partnership." I replied.
"I see." He replied. There was a moment of silence between us. It seemed to stretch on forever.
"I have come to understand that you are working with her on deviant android cases." He said.
"That is correct." I replied.
"What is your main end goal with these cases?" He asked.
"Find, capture, analyze and despose. I need to find out why androids are deviating and stop it." I said. Something about that was very offsetting to him.
"I do hope that you won't cause any problems with (Y/n)'s emotional well-being." He said, his blue eyes becoming slightly colder than before.
"Never." I said. He looked me over again.
"Alright then. I guess I'll see you around, Connor." He said.
"Same to you, Oreon." I replied. With that said, he left without another word.
