Saving the Broken (Connor x Deviant!Reader)

Connor's POV

I watched as she drifted off to sleep. I smiled. I could finally be next to her. I didn't care about anything else. I hadn't realized how much I had wanted this until I had become deviant. I was so glad it was finally happening.

I relaxed there with her in my arms. I listened to her breathing and the sound of her heartbeat. I smiled. I was sad that it would eventually have to end, so I enjoyed it as much as I could for the time being.

I wondered what would happen if I connected with her. I decided to try it. My hand went white and I intertwined my fingers into hers. I saw her own skin go white. I felt calm, relaxed, and safe as I did this. So that's what she's feeling then. I saw her smile grow a bit and I smiled as well.

I wondered if I could somehow make her dream about something doing this. I thought of the night we had walked together. I felt her hand tighten and I knew she could see it too. How is the real? How did I get so lucky to have you? I wondered.

I let go of her hand soon enough. I stayed with her though. I laid there as I waited for her to wake up. It was peaceful and it was perfect.

After about an hour she shifted and her eyes opened. I smiled at her adorable sleepy form. She smiled back.

"Hey, Connor." She said.

"Hello, (Y/n)." I greeted her. "Sleep well?" I asked. She nodded with a yawn. The yawn made me slightly confused since we didn't really ever need to yawn, but I pushed it aside. It's probably nothing. I figured. I got up and undercovered her. I picked her up bridal style and she wrapped her arms around my neck. She giggled and I chuckled along with her.

"So, to the new Jericho?" She asked.

"Yes. Let's go." I said.

"Hey, Connor?" She asked.

"Yes?"

"Think I could have a piggyback ride instead?" She asked, blushing shyly. I chuckled. She's so adorable. I helped her slide onto my back and I supported her weight under her legs.

"Better?" I asked. She nodded before resting her head on my shoulder. I smiled and kissed her temple. She smiled a bit, wrapping her arms around my neck from behind.

I headed out with her as we made our way back to the new Jericho. As we walked along she muttered cute observations to me as her (e/c) eyes drifted from one thing to the next, taking in the beautiful scenery around us.

Soon enough we arrived. I carried her inside and we were both nearly tackled by her friends.

"WHERE WERE YOU!? YOU SCARED THE LIFE OUT OF US!" Claira yelled, instantly fretting over us.

"Dude, I said go get her, not disappear for a day!" Jacob said.

"I know, but something happened and she's damaged. Can you help?" I asked. They nodded.

"Come on! Markus should know where the supplies are!" Nelly said. I carried (Y/n) as I followed the group of friends along. I saw Markus, North, Simon, and Josh up ahead. They looked over and spotted us.

"Markus, (Y/n) is injured." Dell said.

"What happened?" He asked.

"I...fell." She said. I understood why she wouldn't want to tell them.

"She needs some parts to be replaced and fixed." I explained. He nodded. 

"Jaden and Josh, can you two take care of her?" He asked. They both nodded. Jaden helped (Y/n) away and I waited with her friends.

"So, what did happen?" Jacob asked.

"Well, she has forgiven me." I said.

"Yeah, that's obvious. What about before that? Why is she damaged?" Roxy asked.

"She fell...into the river." I said.

"WHAT!?" They all exclaimed. 

"Why didn't you come here first then!?" Claira asked.

"I needed to go to a place I know I could easily warm her up, so I went somewhere else instead." I explained.

"I guess that makes sense." Jacob agreed.

"As long as she's alright, I guess that's all that matters." Dell said. I nodded. I hope she's alright at least.

Your POV

You laid back as Josh and Jaden began to work on you. You didn't mind it, fading in and out of consciousness as they did so. You laid still as the worked. 

"You alright there, (Y/n)?" Josh asked. You opened your eyes.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry. I'm just a little wore out is all." You replied. He nodded and kept helping Jaden fix you.

"Hey Josh, can you go get some more tools? I'm having some trouble over here." Jaden said.

"Sure." He replied and left. Jaden looked down at you. "Okay (Y/n), you're gonna have to be powered off for a moment, but it shouldn't cause any damage to any of your systems." She said.

"Okay." You replied.

"Ready?" She asked, grasping some wires.

"Ready." You replied. She disconnected them and you instantly shut down as the world went dark.

You soon powered back on. You felt completely better. You sat up, but Jaden looked like she had just seen a ghost. You were confused.

"Jaden? What's wrong?" You asked.

"N-nothing! I just thought I damaged something. Y-you're fine!" She said. You were kind of skeptical, but you went along with it. You stood up and thanked her before heading back out to Connor.

You walked back over to him and he smiled. He hugged you tightly and you hugged back happily. You looked at all of your friends and smiled.

"So your're sure you're okay now?" Jacob asked.

"Yes, I'm fine." You assured them. They all looked relieved and they nodded.

"(Y/n), we have to go." Connor said.

"What? Where?" You asked.

"You'll see, but we have to get there before he runs out of patientce." Connor said. You smiled. You took his hand and waved goodbye to the rest of your friends. You left the new Jericho and Connor gently pulled you along. You kept up with him with a smile. It might have been colder outside, but the sun made the day absolutely beautiful.

"Can you please tell me where we're going?" You asked.

"No." He replied wth a grin.

"Why not?" You asked.

"Because that would spoil the surprise." He said. You sighed heavily, your breath puffing out in front of you in a cloud.

"Fine Mr. Secretive." You grumbled, faking your pouty attitude. He chuckled.

"Don't be like that. We'll be there soon. It's not far." He said. You smiled.

"Alright." You said, giving in. Soon he stopped. You recognized this place. 

"This is near Hank's favorite place." You said.

"Wait here." He said. He kept walking and you watched him. You saw him walk up to a man. It was then you pieced it together. Hank! You saw them hug each other. You could hear Connor's voice, but you couldn't make out what he was saying. Then, he turned and looked at you. You smiled and walked over. Hank squinted to make you out, but once he could, he smiled.

"(Y/n)! You're alright!" He said. You smiled and nodded. He hugged you and You all enjoyed each others company. You offered to take Hank to your old home so he could have some of Nelly's baked goods. He gladly accepted. You all headed out and you called Nelly so she could come home and bake. All of your friends were coming. You decided to make it a party. Androids didn't need food, but Claira insisted so that way it would be a 'proper party'. You had no reason to argue with her. You all walked to your place, chatting with each other on the way. Things are going to get better now. I can feel it.
