Saving the Broken (Connor x Deviant!Reader)

You had been called to a meeting with Connor. He didn't know why Markus wanted you to come with, but he did. You had a feeling why Markus wanted you. He's finally been convinced to kick me out. You thought.

"I'm sure it's nothing huge." Connor said, clearly oblivious to your depressed state. You hid it considerably well. You didn't want to occupy any more of Connor's time so you had started numbing yourself to everything and pretending to smile when he was around. So far, it had been working. You held a straight face as you both walked to the meeting room.

Once you arrived, Connor allowed it to identify him and you both walked inside. You saw everyone was already there, waiting patiently.

"Connor, (Y/n)." Markus greeted. "Listen, we want to know why Cyberlife might want you, (Y/n). Do you have any ideas?" Markus asked.

"No. I don't." You replied. "The only reason I can think of is because I'm important to all of you, so I could be used as a lure, but to lure who? Collin was just going to shoot Connor." You said.

"Maybe they're after you, Markus." North said.

"Maybe, but I don't think that's it. This seems too much of an obvious plan. I'm the leader, so obviously they'd want me, but why is (Y/n) involved? That's not the first thing that I would do if I were in their seat."

"As far as I'm concerned, they have no reason to want me for anything." You said.

"Well, we're going to have to do something soon before Cyberlife takes control of the city." Josh said.

"Agreed, but what?" North asked.

"I don't know yet." Markus said.

"I should leave." You said.

"No, you can stay to discuss it." Markus said.

"No. I mean I should leave New Jericho." You said.

"WHAT!?" Connor and North both shouted.

"No! You can't! The humans will find you!" Josh said.

"What if they find all of us?" You said. "Look if I leave, they won't come here. They won't find anything. Everyone will be safe." You explained.

"For how long? They need you for something, that much we know is a fact, and that something isn't gonna be anything good!" Markus argued.

"So I don't let them catch me." You said.

"It's impossible to evade all the Cyberlife soldiers all around the city." Simon said.

"Clearly it isn't, because I know somebody who has." You said.

"Who?" North asked.

"If you're thinking of Oreon, we don't know that for a fact, (Y/n)." Connor said.

"No. It is a fact. I would've felt something if he died. I don't know, but so far my gut has been right. I knew about the lady. I knew about Collin. I knew about the attack on Jericho. I knew that I was going to..." You cut off at that part. "You get my point." You muttered.

"While you have been correct, you've dreamed this stuff. You haven't had a dream to leave." Markus said.

"I haven't had a dream about Oreon or why they want me either. Look, apparently my gut doesn't know everything, but I know that I have to listen to what it tells me. So far it's kept most of us alive." You said.

"You can't leave Jericho. That's what all of our guts are saying." North insisted.

"Yeah, well I don't listen to your guts." You said.

"But you do listen to me. (Y/n), you can't leave. We're safe here. I'm sure we can come up with some sort of plan before-"

"Before we get found out?" You interrupted Connor.

"Before they take control." He finished. "(Y/n), you're acting irrationally. This isn't like you."

"Really? I've never done irrational things before?" You asked semi-sarcastically.

"You have, but nothing this blunt!" Connor argued.

"Everyone calm down! Listen, how about we take a few days to all think it over? (Y/n) will stay here for that time so she can doublethink her actions as well. Agreed?" Markus said.

"Agreed." You all replied. I can't wait around. I'll come up with a plan to find Oreon, then I'll head out. I can't bring the wolves, that'll be too noticeable. Didn't he say he went to visit a friend? Clearly, that wasn't one of the others. I think he talked about him before. I just have to remember.

You and Connor headed out together. You both got to your room and Connor shut the door.

"Why do you keep trying to run off?" He said.

"I'm not running off. I'm trying to do what I think is best for everyone. You can't tell me that everyone won't be safer if I leave!" You said.

"Neither will you be!" Connor insisted.

"Connor, I love you, but this is bigger than both of us and you know it!" You said.

"Well if you're going to leave then at least allow me to go with you."

"No. You've been in bad spots with Cyberlife too many times now. They're after me so you shouldn't have to get tangled up in another mess like this because of that." You said.

"(Y/n), you're my responsibility, so my job is to protect you!" He said.

"I can take care of myself too, you know!" You said, getting frustrated with his persistence.

Why are you being so stubborn?" He said.

"Me stubborn!? Look in the mirror lately!?" You said.

"It's called determined!" He said.

"Well, then I'm 'determined' to leave!" You replied.

"You're determined to leave me too!"

"And you're determined to treat me like a child!"

"You're my girlfriend! Is it wrong to want to keep you safe!?"

"No, but you're being excessive about it!"

"And you're being ridiculous with your irrational plan!"

"At least I have a plan!"

"Oh, that's just uncalled for!" He growled.

"You started that one." You retorted.

"ENOUGH!" He yelled, his LED bright red and his face twisted with anger. He sighed, his angry expression falling as his LED turned back to blue. "I know I'm being overprotective. I'm sorry, but I can't let you go. I can't lose you again. Please...stay with me." He said, his words turning into begging by the end it. He sounded like he was on the brink of tears. Your heart melted as you felt guilt for getting so upset with him. You hugged back.

"Connor...I love you. I'm sorry too." You said. He kissed you.

"Please, promise me you won't leave me. Promise me you'll be safe." He said.

"I promise I won't ever leave you." You said. Not truly anyway.

"Thank you, angel." He said, holding you close as he kissed you passionately. You kissed back just as strongly. You felt your hearts beating together. I will never leave you. I promise. You aren't going to lose me.
