Fallout X Reader Preferences

This is just who the main cook is in your home.

MacCready
Both of you do. He's trying to learn new, healthier stuff for Duncan, but he really likes cooking. He says it makes him feel more like a man, but you tell him the sniper on his back does that enough.

Hancock
You usually have to cook. You let him cook once, and for some reason, eating whatever he made for you, made you a bit high... Since then, you haven't allowed him to cook for you.

Nick
Neither of you. Because of his detective work, he gets food for free, and can usually get you some too. You guys vary between noodles and meat, sometimes mixing the two. Otherwise, though, he cooks.

Deacon
Deacon is an outstanding chef. He can make just about anything taste good, and it's absolutely hilarious to watch him grill in a hot pink apron that says "Kiss the Cook" on the front of it.

X6-88
He doesn't really need to eat, but sometimes will if he feels like it, so you usually end up cooking for yourself, or rarely, for him.

Preston
Preston cooks. Only Preston. He won't allow you to cook, because he feels that when he cooks for you, it makes him feel like he's taking care of you in at least one way.

Sturges
Sturges can't cook for shit. He is good with mechanics, so he will stay with mechanics. Once he tried to make cereal, and nearly burned the house down. Again. Not sure how. You don't mind cooking, if only because you're afraid to let him do it for you.

Gage
Gage doesn't even know what an oven is. He calls it a food heater. He might be able to be taught how to cook, and you weren't really sure how he got this far without knowing what a spatula was.

Travis
Travis is a legendary baker. He goes into a mad baking frenzy whenever he's stressed, so when you came home one day, your house looked like a small German family had at it with your baking supplies. Travis was sitting at the table nervously eating a cookie and flipping through the pages of a book.

Danse
Danse is a good cook. He can't bake for shit, as you learned when you had to burn the cookies off of the pan he put them on. He didn't use the non-stick spray you found in a trash can for some reason. But he can make anything on a stove. Not the oven. His specialty is any type of pasta. He always gets the noodles cooked to whatever you called perfection.

Maxson
You cook. He's usually too busy, and from time to time, you actually have to remind him to eat! It makes you sad, in a way, but it's still nice to sit with him and eat and talk about your day and how he's doing and whatnot.

Codsworth
He cooks. He did it a lot for a family before the war, which makes sense. After 200 years of not cooking though, he had to learn how again.

Butch
Neither of you can cook. You both absolutely suck at it. Luckily, your friends with the Stahl family, and they see you two as kids (despite being in your young 20's), so they provide both of you with free food.

Gob
Cooking is a small part of his job, so you usually cook at home because you feel like he might get bored of it, or just not want to after doing it all day.

Charon
Charon is decent at cooking if you tell him how to do it. You can tell him to cook a lizard over the fire, and he will do so. He does everything precisely, so it doesn't taste bad, but it's never exceptionally good, either.

Arcade
Arcade knows how to cook. Mostly because he's had to do so for patients of Julie's, but he's always been good with mixing chemicals, and that's pretty much what he saw cooking as. Minus the chemicals, in most cases. The two of you just sort of went back and forth. It was just whoever had nothing to be doing.

Boone
You cook. It's not that Boone can't cook, he just had 'better things to do'. By that, he means he wants to stand guard or snipe some Legion fuckers or take a quick depression nap. You've never eaten any of his cooking, but you're sure he could if he had too.

Raul
Either one of you. It's just whoever wants to cook, cooks. You aren't big on eating together, so you just cook whenever you're hungry.

Benny
Neither of you cook. The two of you are always fine dining, or you can just call food up to your rooms. He's made you breakfast at one point, however, and it surprisingly wasn't that bad of a scrambled gecko egg.

Swank
Neither of you, but he can cook is he has to. Nothing fancy, but he understands how an oven works, so that's pretty darn great. He can make a mean bowl of cereal.

Dean
He doesn't allow you to cook. He's very picky, so he chooses to cook so that he's positive he'll be eating what he likes, how he likes it, whenever he wants it.

Yes Man
He doesn't know how to cook. Before becoming a synth, he never had to worry about simple things like eating. You're trying to teach him basic stuff, and he's slowly getting better. Certainly not amazing, but it's good he's learning.

Victor
Him. He loves cooking anything over a fire. He'd sit by a fire all night and use cooking as an excuse for doing so. You don't mind, and usually sit with him.

Ten of Spades
You two just eat provisions, so neither of you have to worry about cooking, especially since there's a chef at each NCR outpost.

Vulpes
Neither of you cooked. You guys eat whatever the slaves prepare for the two of you. You tell him that he shouldn't, seeing as he has a lot of death on his head, and someone could poison him. He finally gave in, and since then, you don't mind cooking.

Joshua
You cook. It's not that he doesn't like being around fire or anything... Okay maybe it's because he doesn't like being that close to fire, but, in any case, you're happy to cook for him. Half the time, he doesn't want to eat, but you know he needs to. He'll definitely eat whatever you make him.

Follows-Chalk
He cooks. It's actually one of his talents. He's very skilled, and what he makes is always better than boxed up stuff since they don't have ovens and cook everything over a fire. He's good with spices and stuff too.

Ulysses
He cooks. He knows more about recipes and spices from his tribal years, and he finds it to be a small way of keeping their memory in his mind. He says that if he stopped for too long, he'd forget, and he couldn't stand for that.

Dr. O
You cook. He is good at one thing, and that's destroying robots. He can't do anything else.

Dr. Klein
He cooks. He mostly cooks with whiskey, and is really good at making spicy food. There's this one shrimp and rice thing that he makes and it's probably the best thing he knows how to cook.

Dr. Mobius
You have to cook. He's either too drugged out, or too lazy to actually cook. He's also too impatient for the food to finish, and always is over your shoulder, bugging you until it's done.
