Fallout X Reader Preferences

This is what they do when they're sad.

MacCready
MacCready doesn't sleep. He'll stay up overnight and worry about whatever is making him sad. He'll stay awake until he eventually crashes, and when he wakes up again is when he actually decides to deal with whatever the issue is.

Hancock
Hancock gets high. It makes the problems he has go to the back of his mind. You hate it because he'll just remember the issue whenever he's sober, and then he'll get high again and it'll be an endless cycle until he handles it properly.

Nick
Nick tries to distract himself with work when he's sad. He'll open an old case folder and look over it or ask Ellie if here's any new files to open and sometimes he'll ask people around Diamond City if they need any help with anything, even if it's just maintenance stuff.

Deacon
When sad, Deacon is noticeably more clingy. He'll keep his same cheery attitude, but he'll hold you closer and hug you tighter. You'll ask if he's okay and after some coaxing, he'll spill his guts about whatever's been on his mind.

X6-88
He doesn't really get sad, but when he does, he'll try to do what humans do to ease their troubles. He'll eat and sleep, which are two things he doesn't normally needs to do.

Preston
When he's sad, he'll take you aside whenever you have a minute, and he'll tell you what's wrong so he can get your advice on how to handle it. You usually just hug him and the two of you will take the day off doing whatever you need to do to make him happy again.

Sturges
Whenever he's upset over something, he'll usually find something to take his mind off of it. He'll start up on an old project again or he'll find a new one just to have his focus shift.

Gage
Gage will be on a mean streak whenever he's sad. He'll act like an asshole to everyone and shout at some of the Raider gangs for stupid reasons. People will step out of his way because they know his mood will last five seconds before he's back to his normal self. He just needs to blame his sadness on someone.

Travis
When he's sad, Travis will sweetly ask you to take a nap with him. Of course, you always do. Sleeping takes his mind off things, and waking up next to you later... it just takes all his sadness away.

Danse
When he's upset, he works out. He'll lift until he can't anymore and says it's to let off steam. Not angry steam, but sad steam, if that makes sense.

Maxson
It may be shocking, but he'll drink himself into the ground. He'll do so behind closed doors of course, but still, you never expected him to be a sad drunk. When drunk, he'll just pull you close and sob.

Codsworth
He doesn't  hide how he's feeling from yo, because he's learning how to deal with his emotions, and you help him determine what he's feeling. It keeps any miscommunication out of the picture.

Butch
When he's sad, Butch hides it as best he can. It takes a lot to make him sad, and it's usually just the reminder of his father. He'll sort of just mentally shut down, and be less energetic.

Gob
Gob will go into a cleaning frenzy. One day you came home and he was washing dishes furiously and sobbing. He laughed about it later because he doesn't remember what he was so upset about.

Charon
When Charon's sad, he'll just tell you. He doesn't really show emotion when he does so, but he'll tell you whats the matter, get it off his chest, and move on with life. He says that he hates feeling sad, so he tries to cheer up as fast as possible, and that usually comes by telling people whats wrong and getting their word on it.

Arcade
When he's sad, Arcade will become noticeably more stressed. He'll pace back and forth and bite the skin around his nails and tug on his hair. He'll ask Julie for more work, and she'll usually understand and give him something pointless to do.

Boone
Boone is always sad. With you, he's just a lot less sad, which is good. When he gets in a mood though, he'll ask you to rant or ramble about something because he loves hearing you talk about stupid shit.

Raul
He works to blow off steam. He gets sad, then gets mad that he's sad, especially if the reason is dumb. He'll just grip a wrench harder and pretend like he'd alright.

Benny
When he's sad, he'll get drunk and gamble off more than half of his money. He'll ask you to have sex, and you'll say no, and take him up to his suite and tuck him into bed like he's a baby. He just smiles dumbly at you.

Swank
When he's upset, he thinks of you. You make him smile, and he thinks about what you would do if you were in his situation, and your presence comforts him. You have no idea why.

Dean
Dean will write a song. He'll write a song and perfect it so he can sing it, because he says, "The best way to write a love song, is to be in love." Supposedly, the same thing applies for writing a sad song.

Yes Man
Yes Man will eat everything in your fridge, and he says it's to fill the indescribable hole that he feels in himself. You'll hug him and tell him that there's really no way to do that, and that it's just part of being human. He'll tear up and just hug you for a really long time.

Victor
Victor has nothing to be sad about, but when sorrow strikes, he'll go sit somewhere quiet and just leave himself alone so he can think for a while.

Ten of Spades
He'll get more touchy with you. Not in an inappropriate way, but he'll just be more clingy. He'll glue himself to your arm and hold your hand and ask if you'll hug him for a while. Just until he feels better.

Vulpes
He doesn't really get sad. It's very rare, since there isn't much he cares about besides you. When he is sad though, he's in an awful mood, and everyone's day will be better if you just stay out of his way and don't make eye contact or speak to him.

Joshua
When Joshua gets sad, he'll stop what he's doing and take a minute to sit down to read his Bible. He'll just say that he needs to remember that he's in the hands of his Lord. You don't really understand, but if he's happy, you're happy.

Follows-Chalk
When he's said, he closes his eyes and communicates with his ancestors (or tries, anyways). He'll ask for help or luck or bravery, and it will ease his mind a little, so in a way, it helps.

Ulysses
He doesn't usually get sad. When the Divide became... well, the Divide, he experienced such great sadness, that everything else he finds too stupid to be upset about. When sad, he compares that small sadness to his old sadness, and feels a little better.

Dr. O
When he's sad, he shuts the fuck up. That's how you know something is wrong with him. You'll pull on his sleeve and ask him whats wrong. He won't say, and you'll pester him until he tells you, and you make him smile.

Dr. Klein
He drinks, then works. It's led to a few injuries and many mistakes, and you two are working on changing is method of coping, since he has you in his life now.

Dr. Mobius
When he gets sad, he becomes the victim, and will lay across your lap on a couch and speak his mind. Then he'll cross his arms and make a cute little mad face.
