This is what weapon they use.

MacCready
A bolt action sniper rifle, of course! He doesn't like to be close to his enemies, so he kills them from afar. You sort of noticed how it sorta represented how he was afraid of being close to anyone, but never mentioned it to him.

Hancock
Hancock uses a pump shotgun, because he says that the one he uses was used by the Pre-War John Hancock in a battle ages ago, but he souped it up so it could actually work more efficiently.

Nick
Nick uses an old police revolver you'd found and cleaned up just for him. You found it in an old police station near Quincy, and picked it up thinking he would like it. Sure enough, he did!

Deacon
Deacon uses a silenced pistol, or a silenced sniper rifle if you tell him you're taking your enemies out from afar. He just says it's easier to pick people off up close or far away without getting caught. It's a stealth thing.

X6-88
X6 uses a Institute-given laser rifle. It's long and sleek, bringing a refined taste to killing surface-y bastards. It suits him, and he seems to like it, and refuses any other gun that's offered to him.

Preston
Preston uses a crank laser rifle that shoots two flaming hot beams from one ball at the end of it. He named it Susan and it's one of his most prized possessions. It was given to him by a past General of the Minutemen, a very close friend of his.

Sturges
Sturges uses a Sledgehammer with spikes attached to the end of it. He says he got it from a pal over in Diamond City, and whenever the two of you go down for the night, he keeps it under the bed for safety. You've only seen him use it twice, but he handles the heavy object with ease!

Gage
Gage made a weapon of his own, and it was a sword under a combat shotgun, for the most part. It was attached so it could be used as either, and you were amazed that hot glue was all he used!

Travis
Travis doesn't use weapons very often, but he knows how to use a simple, easy to load pistol... Should the need arise.

Danse
Danse uses a Brotherhood-given laser pistol, but he'd modified it over time so that it shot out a silvery beam and if he held the trigger, he could go from target to target, melting any fucker in his path.

Maxson
Maxson hardly has need for a gun, seeing as he stays on the Prydwen most of the time, but you've seen him wield a mini gun once, and without the Power Armor to help him lift and fire it!

Codsworth
He uses the weapon of love! The weapon of love is just a bunch of hugs and smiles. That usually works, but it actually never works. He's almost died numerous times.

Butch
Butch has no need for an actual gun, but he'll use his switchblade if he must. He hates getting it dirty, but at the same time, he loves cleaning it later. It works for just about everything, and is a handy weapon to have for any reason.

Gob
Gob has a stun gun that he only has to use in the bar if one patron decides he doesn't like how someone's looking at him and stirs shit up. Then Gob steps in a stuns the poor drunk men.

Charon
Charon uses a hunting rifle, because as he said, "I use it because the people we kill are animals." Which is a little philosophical for him.

Arcade
Arcade uses an Enclave-style plasma gun, though he didn't tell you it was made by the Enclave until you build up some sort of friendship with him.

Boone
Boone uses a sniper because he says that it is, tactically, the smartest weapon, because you can take someone in a crowd out from a mile away and no one would be the wiser.

Raul
He uses a revolver just because he knows how. Most other guns have too much of a kick for his taste, so he keeps it small and simple.

Benny
Benny uses a shiny grey 9mm pistol that he named Maria. He actually used it to shoot that one Courier in the head before you demanded he shoot them twice for safety measures.

Swank
He doesn't really like guns too much, but he has a bat that he keeps under his desk at the Tops. If someone refuses to hand their weapons over, or decides to be difficult, he's allowed to use it.

Dean
Dean uses a submachine gun because he says it mowed down any stupid bastard that got in his way. He wasn't wrong.

Yes Man
Yes Man absolutely refuses to own a gun, but you make sure to have one under your bed just in case. He says they're dangerous, and a bad influence on you, which doesn't really make a whole lot of sense, in your opinion.

Victor
He uses a revolver or a hunting rifle. It depends on his mood, or so he says. He uses the revolver when he's feeling flashy, and the hunting rifle when he's feeling cocky.

Ten of Spades
He can use whatever he's told to use. He's surprisingly good at handling anything he's given, so long as it works properly and has the right bullets and whatnot.

Vulpes
He uses a ripper that he upgraded. You joke on him about how he should be giving haircuts or trimming hedges instead, but he says that it's a good weapon because once it chews into somebody, that somebody is more focused on their wound than the battle.

Joshua
Joshua uses a unique .45 auto pistol with an all too short barrel. You joke about his attachment to it, but he simply says that the attachment is why the gun has stayed by his side when his friends haven't.

Follows-Chalk
He thinks guns are the way to go. With tomahawks and clubs and stuff, he thinks it hurts the person more, and the last thing he wasn't to do is put someone in pain. With guns, they go out like a light.

Ulysses
He uses a short flag pole with a golden eagle at the end. You've seen him knock off the head of some Marked Men, and still manage to hold his place in history.

Dr. O
He used tools. Hammers, screwdrivers, etc. He uses them everyday, taking apart machines and smashing them, so why use anything else when he knows how to use power drills and whatnot.

Dr. Klein
He knows how to use guns, but he really doesn't like fighting. He isn't skilled with any type of weapon either, but he knows the basics.

Dr. Mobius
He's actually pretty good with a sword. If he has a choice, it's what he'd pick. He thinks guns are less efficient than swords, and he likes when things get messy.
