This is how their parents would be, if they had parents. For synths... well... fuck the scientists. This is how their parents would have been if they had been born naturally.

MacCready
MacCready hated his dads. They were always watching everything he did and he felt like he would end up a disappointment to them. He ran away with Lucy when he was 19, and it broke his fathers' hearts.

Hancock
He was a momma's boy. He loved his mom more than anyone, including his father and brother. He liked them okay too, but it was his mom he could be open to. She loved him relentlessly, and he has a framed photo of her sitting on his desk.

Nick
His mom was an officer, and his dad was a cook. Nick grew up to be a detective, and he could cook a damn fine meal for the two of you.

Deacon
His parents were perfect. Lived in the Upper Stands of Diamond City, never had injuries or health problems. He grew up being suspicious of them because happiness like that was unnatural. He never trusted his parents and left the second he could.

X6-88
Strict. He had no room to breathe. He was never allowed to do anything but train and learn. After finding out he couldn't change that, he gave up and became the same man as his father was, up until you came and tore those walls away.

Preston
One of his moms was a sweetheart, and the other was a hardened soldier of the Minutemen. Preston never met his biological father, but after a while, he learned not to care because as long as his birth mother was with the one she loved, he was happy. He grew up in a supportive home, but was bullied a bit.

Sturges
He had a good home life. Him and his dad would be working endlessly on a project and his mother would just shake her head and watch her two boys.

Gage
Gage never knew his biological parents, but his adoptive parents were enough. All he remembered was that they were weak, and always stuck under the thumb of some sad, fucked up, raider.

Travis
His mother was a sweetheart but his dad... His dad tended to drink. He was a sad drunk, and not abusive towards Travis and his mother, but sucking up all their money was abusive in a way.

Danse
Danse looked up to his father, a model soldier, and a single dad, all at the same time. He refused to tell Danse what happened to his mother, and Danse was just fine with that.

Maxson
His father was the Elder before him, and Arthur secretly hated him in his place. His mother was there for him to talk to, but he never got over his father's stupidity for some reason.

Codsworth
He grew up with a single mom, and it's why he's so in touch with his feelings. She taught him very well how to express them and their bond is unbreakable.

Butch
His father disappeared and left his mother heartbroken. She drank herself into a hole. A hole Butch ended up having to fill in.

Gob
He never knew his real parents, and only had Carol and Greta. They did a good job watching him, and even in Megaton, Gob wrote to them, always getting a response.

Charon
His parents sold him the second they could to get more chems. It's why Charon is so cold towards people, because how can he trust a stranger when his own parents sold him before he was even born?

Arcade
He loved both of his parents, but favored his father, who was a treasured soul in the Enclave. His death broke Arcade's heart, and he's even told you that he still hasn't gotten over it.

Boone
Boone and his father were more like best friends rather than father and son. His mother was alright, but Boone really cared for his dad. Losing the man really changed him.

Raul
He's a lot like his dad in gruffness and in his tiredness. He's like his mom in his ability to listen, and his ability to work with mechanics.

Benny
His parents were filthy fuckin' rich. You'd think that'd be good. They ignored Benny all throughout his childhood, and would give him cash to make up for their mental absence. He hated it and he refuses to speak about his past to anyone besides a bottle of scotch.

Swank
He had really cool moms. He had his two actual moms that adopted him, and then all of their friends acted like his moms. He grew up with like, five.

Dean
His parents never paid much attention to him, and thought that raising him was a chore. When he went off and got famous was when they were on his doorstep, telling him stories of things that never happened. Slamming the door in their faces brought him immense satisfaction.

Yes Man
He blames his passiveness on his two moms that raised. They were both very kind women without a mean bone in their body, and through his childhood, he picked up on that, and lived the same way.

Victor
His dad taught him how much to drink, how many to smoke, how many to fuck, and how many to shoot. His mother hated it, but Victor loved his old man nonetheless.

Ten of Spades
His dad saw him as a disappointment, and you didn't know why. His mother was proud of him, but worried that he'd get hurt on the field. He never spoke to his father, but would receive letters from his mom and sister.

Vulpes
He didn't give a shit about his parents, especially when they were murdered. Vulpes was instead raised as a Legion man, and grew into all the fitting stereotypes.

Joshua
His parents would lecture him day and night. He hated it back then, but now, with all he knows, he regrets not listening and taking it to heart.

Follows-Chalk
His parents were average. He had a pretty big family, and he loves all of them to absolute bits. He's very thankful for them.

Ulysses
His parents were both junkies, and it was moreso him taking care of them rather than vice versa. It taught him a lot about medicine, but not a lot about how to show compassion where it's due, or how to know when you're being loved.

Dr. O
His parents were never around. He had to make breakfast for himself and go to the store and spend his own money and stuff like that. It's how he grew up and he thought that it was fine until he learned how cushy some kids grew up.

Dr. Klein
His mom left when he was really young and he doesn't remember much about her other than that she had brown hair and a loud voice. His dad was usually drunk, and verbally (never physically) abusive.

Dr. Mobius
His parents were cool. They were very average and sweet people, and they were so supportive of everything their son did. When he told them he was on chems they were a little disappointed but said they'd always be there for him.
