Chapter 119

"Oh, I was intrigued by the trico animal you mentioned so I looked it up. It is rather cute." Connor explained. You smiled happily.

"You like it?" You asked.

"Of course! It's a lovely creation! I think it would be rather nice to have it as a regular sized pet." He told you. You smiled, pleased that he liked it.

"Yeah, me too!" You agreed. You both cuddled up to each other and you kissed one last time for the day.

"Goodnight, Connor." 

"Goodnight, (Y/n). Sweet dreams."

"You too, Con."

Oreon's POV

It was Sunday. Today was the day. I could finally get out of here. I looked around. Where was she? I looked around for her and I found her in an empty room.

"Val? Why are you sitting in here?" I asked. She looked up.

"Oh, hey, Oreon." She said rather gloomily. I sat down next to her.

"Hey, cheer up. Guess what?" I asked.

"What?"

"We're gonna be free today! Come on! I've got some regular clothes for us! We can take out our LED's and-"

"I'm not leaving, Oreon." I stopped.

"What? Val, that's crazy. Why would you ever want to stay? It'll be so much better out there! We'll be able to live freely! We'll be together!" I said.

"I'm not leaving." She repeated. I frowned.

"Val?" I asked, confused.

"I can't go out there, Oreon. Not again. It's better here. Yes, we're used, but we're safe." She said.

"So you'd take being a toy over being free? Over being with me?" I asked.

"Oreon, we aren't even dating." She said.

"But we're friends!" I countered.

"Still! I'm not going!" She snapped.

"Why!?" I asked.

"Because I don't want to!"

"Why WOULDN'T you want to leave!?"

"Maybe I feel like it's stupid! There's no point in living your life on the run!" She said.

"It's not on the run! We just have to hide until things get better for us!" I said.

"We can 'hide' here!" She said.

"Why are you so against this!?"

"I don't have to give you a reason!"

"The reason is you're being extremely stubborn for no reason whatsoever!"

"I have my reasons!" She shouted.

"Then what are they!? I thought you said you told me everything!" I shouted.

"Everything you needed to know!" She snapped.

"JUST TELL ME VALENTINE!" 

"NO!"

"WHY!? WHAT ARE YOU HIDING!?"

"IF YOU WANT TO LEAVE THEN GET OUT!!" She screamed, glaring fiercely at me. I was stunned. I realized I had pushed her a little too hard. I instantly felt bad.

"Val...I-"

"Get out, Oreon." She hissed, her back to me. "If my choice to stay is an issue, then leave. You never have to speak a word of me ever again." I flinched.

"V-Valentine, please. I'm sor-"

"Can't you take a hint!? I DON'T LOVE YOU!!" I felt my heart shatter. She glared at me. "Go, Oreon. You have no reason to stay here any longer." Tears formed in my eyes. I ran out of the room and I grabbed my clothes. I changed and I ripped off my LED harshly. I whipped the tears away and I went out of the Eden Club through the warehouse door out back behind the building. 

As I walked along, the world around me suddenly went black. I gasped, looking around. I was instantly afraid. What!? What's happening!?

"I told you, I don't love you and neither does she." I turned. Valentine was standing next to (Y/n).

"Val? (Y/n)?" I questioned.

"When will you give up, Oreon? When will you get over it?" (Y/n) asked somewhat mockingly.

"Yeah. You're always like 'poor me, poor me', but you don't have the strength to do anything about it." Val agreed. 

"You're such a wimp!" (Y/n) laughed.

"And you'll always be second best." Val chuckled. Suddenly a felt an agonizing pain in my chest. I screamed out. 

I shot up, gasping in horror. I clutched my shirt where my heart was. I held it so hard my knuckles were turning white. I thought about everything that had just happened. Tears formed in my eyes. It's so hopeless. It will never matter what I do, I'll never find it. I will always love alone.
