Devin:
The Suns beat the Pelicans 105-101, a great start to their road trip. Unfortunately, the start was a heartbreaking one due to the loss of Kobe and his daughter, Gianna. They paid a tribute to Kobe at the game against the Pelicans. Everyone was in tears, including Devin. It was a heartbreaking sight. Devin lost his icon. It's more than a game now.
Now, it was two days later, hearts are still heavy. The Suns are getting ready to play the Nets after a much needed off day. During the off day, the guys went to a bar for a couple drinks, except for Devin. He stayed in his hotel room and was on the phone with Melanie until the very late hours.
Currently, Devin was in front of his locker, staring at his phone. Specifically, he was looking at a photo Melanie sent him, wearing her blue yogas and black sports bra. Damn, he thought. He's never seen a woman so beautiful in his life. He's seen many beautiful girls in his career, but Melanie was a real beauty. Not just on the outside, the inside, too. She was the one who called him during her girls day to comfort him after finding out about Kobe's death. She also comforted him after the game through the phone, telling him that he made him proud. She showed him true beauty. And boy, was he hooked on her.
"Holy shit," he hears behind him. Devin jumps and quickly locks his phone. He turns around to see Kelly laughing his ass off. Devin sighs in relief that it's just Kelly and pulls himself together. "Not cool, man," Devin says in annoyance.
Kelly starts calming down a little bit. "My bad, man," he says, letting out a couple more laughs as Devin blushes in embarrassment. "Tell me that was Melanie," he teases him.
Devin gives him a look. "How is that any of your business?" he asks. Kelly shrugs and smirks at him. Devin sighs. "Yeah, it's her." He smiles as he thinks back at he photo and gets ready for shoot around.
Kelly gives him a smirk. "Booker's in love," he teases.
Devin's smile immediately goes away. "No, I'm not," he denies.
Kelly smirks at him. "So she just a booty call?" he teases him.
Devin immediately looks at him. "What'd you just say?" He asks, getting a little pissed off he talked about Melanie like that.
Kelly looks at him. "Relax, man," he said. "I was just playin' wit cha."
Devin eyes him a little longer. He looks him up and down. "Better be," he threatens. He turns back around to finish getting ready.
Kelly chuckles at him. "Damn, bruh," he says. "You are whipped."
Devin rolls his eyes. "Would you stop saying that?" He asks in annoyance. He really is whipped- he knows he is. He just doesn't wanna say it out loud.
Kelly holds his hands up in defense. "I'm just saying, man. She's got you wrapped around her fingers, and you just met her."
Devin sighs. He knows Kelly's right. He IS wrapped around Melanie's fingers. But the problem is exactly what Kelly said- he just met her. He doesn't wanna jump into anything too fast. "I just don't wanna scare her off."
Kelly starts smirking. "So, you admit you're in love."
Devin turns red again. "No, I didn't say that. I just said I didn't wanna scare her off." He finishes getting dressed and starts lacing up his sneakers.
"That's the same thing."
"No, it's not."
"Is too."
"Is not."
"Is too."
Devin shakes his head. "I'm not sitting here and arguing about this. I'm not in love." Devin was never one to settle down. He would have hook-ups with girls in different cities. He's gotten a few calls from those girls, but he's turned them all down. Why? Because of one girl that he has waiting for him in Phoenix. It's crazy how he just met her, yet she's the only one on his mind.
