~One Week Later~

Melanie and Devin were currently putting the last few boxes from her apartment into each of their cars with Mrs. Villanueva's help. "Now, are you sure you have everything, mija?"Mrs. Villanueva asks.

Melanie chuckles at her as she closes her trunk. "Yes, Señora," she replies before looking at her. "I'm gonna miss you."

Mrs. Villanueva smiles at her. "I'm gonna miss you, too, mija." They go in for a hug. Mrs. Villanueva looks at Devin when they pull away. "Take care of her, mijo."

Devin smiles and nods at her. "With everything I have." He hugs her.

Melanie sighs. "Will you be okay here?" she asks.

Mrs. Villanueva nods at her. "Don't worry about me. Go live your life, mija."

Melanie smiles at her. "Okay, but Paradise Valley isn't that far from here. If you ever wanna hang out, just give me a call."

Mrs. Villanueva smiles back at her. "Of course, Melanie." She rubs Melanie's cheeks softly. "Good luck, mija."

Melanie rubs her hand. "Thank you, Señora." They hug one last time, and Mrs. Villanueva heads back upstairs.

Devin puts his hand on her shoulder. "Ready to go?" he asks. Melanie nods at him and starts walking to her car. He opens the door for her and gets an idea. "Hey, babe," she looks at him, "race you to the house."

Melanie gives him a daring look. "You're on," she replies, getting in the car. "Might wanna hurry up, Booker."

Devin immediately closes her door and runs over to his car. He gets in and puts on his seatbelt before starting the car. They both pull out of the parking spots and, with that, they were off.

~20 minutes later~

Devin looks at Melanie, who was in front of him, and shakes his head. "You had the head start, mama," he mumbles under his breath. To be clear, they were about 15 minutes from the house, and Melanie was beating him.

Melanie steals a quick glance at him through the rearview mirror and smirks. She is so gonna gloat about this later.

~15 minutes later~

They arrive at the house, the race being a tie. But to them, it wasn't. They both step out of the cars and immediately start arguing about who won. "I so won that," Melanie says.

Devin shakes his head. "Nope," he argues. "It was me."

Melanie looks at him offended. "Was not."

They start arguing about who won and hear a familiar voice. "Okay, it was both of you," the voice says.

Devin and Melanie look to the side and see Kelly, Rachel, and Maddie. They pull confused looks. "What are you guys doing here?" Melanie asks.

"We're gonna help you guys move into the new house," Rachel replies.

Devin shakes his head. "That's alright, guys," he says. "The movers are gonna be here with stuff from our storage unit, and they'll help us."

"Then, we'll help you guys anyway," Maddie says. "Plus, I've been trying to avoid Jonah."

Melanie chuckles. "Trouble in paradise?" she asks.

Maddie shakes her head. "No, he's been blowing up my phone all morning." Melanie and Rachel coo at her, but Maddie pulls a face. "I gotta text him back."

Kelly and Devin laugh at her words. "Damn," Kelly says. "Jonah really done, now." Devin laughs with him.

Melanie rolls her eyes. "Okay, well, let's go ahead and get some stuff in."
