~Three Days Later~

So, let's catch everyone up..

Melanie's family had already gone back to California and Florida for New Year's. Devin's family had gone home. They finally had the house to themselves again.

Yesterday, they helped Kelly and Rachel pack for San Francisco. They were renting out a 4 bedroom apartment until they found a new house to live and grow in.

Yes, Rachel decided to move with Kelly. She had her classes moved to online lectures until her transfer to San Francisco State was approved. It was hard for Rachel to accept the trade, but, at the end of the day, she loved Kelly, and she would do anything for him (and vice versa). It's hard for her to leave her home, but if she was being honest with herself, she could use the change in scenery. Kelly also realized he was in the wrong for not telling Rachel about the trade after Devin knocked some sense into him, literally. While they were playing one-on-one, Devin 'accidentally' threw the ball when Kelly wasn't looking, and it hit his head.

The day after Christmas was the Suns' first practice. Since COVID cases were rising again, CDC guidelines were put in place, and the players (and their families) had to get tested. Luckily, for Devin and Melanie, they both tested negative, and so did their family members. Because everyone tested negative and reported no symptoms, they were able to continue with practice. They also had to squeeze in as much practice as possible since the season was starting back up on the 30th. They were playing the Mavericks, so that meant they were headed to Dallas tomorrow.

Today, Devin was going to model the new jerseys this year and take some new team photos. He also asked Melanie to come with since they also had an interview with Lindsey planned.

They arrive at the headquarters, and Devin goes to open the door for her, like always. He looks at her when he grabs his bag. "You ready?" he asks. She nods, and he grabs her hand before they walk inside.

They get inside and see the photographer, Josh, setting up. He looks up and sees Devin. "Book!" he says.

Devin smiles and lets go of Melanie's hand to give him a bro-hug. "What's good, bro?"

Josh pulls away with a smile on his face. "Good to see you, man," he says. He looks at Melanie. "This must be the girl that keeps the smile on your face."

Melanie chuckles as Devin shrugs at the statement. "Hi, I'm Melanie," she says.

Josh shakes her hand. "Josh, nice to meet you." He moves on with the subject. "Okay, so, I'm just finishing setting up." He points at Devin. "You can go ahead and change."

Devin nods at him. "Alright, sounds good." He looks at his girlfriend. "I'll be right back."

Melanie nods at him. "Okay." They meet for a quick kiss before he walks off to the dressing area.

Josh looks at Melanie. "Let me pull up a chair for you." He grabs a director chair for her.

She smiles as she sits down. "Thank you." He nods at her and goes back to setting up. She scrolls through her phone to kill some time.

By this time, the entire team had arrived. They say hi to Melanie as they walk past her. Devin then comes back a few minutes later, dressed up in the new uniform with a jersey in Melanie's size. He smiles as he walks up to her. "Hi, babes" he says, putting his hands on the arms of the chair.

She looks up and puts her phone down before smiling at him. "Hi," she says. She looks at his uniform. "Look at you!"

He smirks as he backs up to give her a better view. "You like it?"
