The next day, the two were still tangled in the sheets. Melanie wakes up with her head on Devin's bare chest as he softly rubs her back. She looks up at him as he smiles at her. "Good morning, beautiful," he says to her, bringing his hand up to rub her cheek with his thumb.
Melanie smiles back at him. "Morning," she says. She cuddles closer to him as he plants a kiss on her forehead.
"How'd you sleep?" he asks her.
She blushes as she thinks back on last night's events. "Good," she replies with a bit of shyness in her voice.
He smirks at her. "Yeah, I put that ass to sleep," he says. He really did; she literally fell asleep as soon as they were done.
She blushes even more. "Can you not?" she scolds him as he laughs at her.
He turns on his side and wraps his arms tighter around her. "I love you."
She smiles as he pulls her closer. "I love you."
He lays a kiss on her lips and smirks at the hickeys on her neck before going in to lay kisses on them. "I wasn't too hard on you last night, was I?" he asks.
She shakes her head at him. "You were perfect."
He smiles at her before leaning in for a kiss. "Good." They smile and meet for a kiss. Devin deepens the kiss, and they start fighting for dominance. He starts hovering over her and holds one of her legs against his waist. Melanie lets out a few moans as she feels Devin hardening against her core.
But right when Devin was about to take it a step further, their phones start ringing. They groan in disappointment. "Damn, why does this always happen?" Devin mumbles under his breath as he reaches for their phones. He hands Melanie hers. He looks at his phone confused. "It's Kelly." He answers the phone. "Yo."
Melanie answers the call once she sees it was her mom. "Hello?" she says.
"Hi, baby," her mom says.
Melanie smiles as she starts sitting up. "Hi, mom," she says. She lets out a squeal from the pain shooting through her lower body, making her eyes widen and Devin snap his head at her to give her the same look as he tries to hold back laughter.
Her mom is confused. "Are you okay, Mel?" she asks her in concern.
Melanie stutters a little bit. "Uh, yeah, I'm good," she replies. "I just stubbed my toe."
"Oh, okay," her mom says. "How are you doing? Taylor said you were staying at your boyfriend's house."
Melanie chuckles at her as she grabs the hoodie that Devin handed her. "Yeah, I am," she replies. "I'm good. How about you guys? How's everything over there?" She puts the phone on speaker and puts the hoodie on.
Her mom sighs through the phone. "It's been stressful," she says. "Florida is under a stay-at-home order. I just had to file for unemployment, Taylor's back home and messy as always, and your dad is still going to work."
Melanie starts getting confused. "Wait, Dad is an essential worker?" she asks. "What is he doing at work?"
"Yeah, he's helping the Navy dock their hospital boats," she says in Vietnamese.
Melanie nods, now understanding. The Navy has been helping out local hospitals with treating patients who don't have the virus, which takes the load off a lot of them. "That makes sense," she says. "So what are you and Taylor up to?"
"Right now, I'm just trying to figure out what to make your dad and Taylor for dinner," her mom replies.
Melanie laughs. "Well, tell them if they don't make up their minds, they're cooking." Devin laughs as he hangs up the phone and leans in to kiss her cheek. She sees that he was now dressed in some basketball shorts.
