With that thought in her mind, Melanie lets out a sigh, knowing she has to tell Devin her situation eventually, as she finishes her laundry. But she's just not ready for him to know. No guy has ever made her feel like this, maybe because she's never actually had a boyfriend before because she's not very good with guys, and she doesn't want to scare him off.
One more thing, Melanie managed to keep Devin a secret from Rachel. Rachel still tries to set her up on dates, but Melanie kindly declines them. Her eye has only been on one guy as of lately. Melanie has told Devin about these dates that Rachel sets up, and Devin has admitted that he hates that idea. But Melanie has assured him that she only wants to go on a date with him.
Shaking the thought from her head, Melanie takes a look at the time and realizes that it's time for her to start getting ready. She sets her outfit on the bed and goes to her bathroom to hop in the shower. After her shower, she dries herself and wraps the towel around her body, puts on some deodorant and pops in her contacts. She heads back to her bedroom and puts on her outfit, does her hair, putting it in a half-up/half-down bun, does a simple makeup look, and sprays a little bit of her favorite VS Pink perfume. Her outfit consisted of a black cami, dark-washed jeans that she cuffed at the bottom (A/N- short girl problems🙄), and some white slip-on vans all topped off with a nude cardigan. She puts on her favorite bracelet as well as a scrunchy to keep on hand in case her hair tie decides to break when she decides to fix her hair.
Melanie then looks at the time again and sees that it's time for her to leave for the game. She grabs her car keys and black and gold Michael Kors purse that was gifted to her from her parents for graduating college and heads out to her car, saying bye to Mrs. Villanueva on the way. She hops in and starts the drive to Talking Stick Resort Arena. Halfway to the arena, she receives a text from Devin telling her where to go to get her ticket.
Upon arrival, she immediately finds a good parking spot, which is rare, especially on game day. She then heads to the entrance Devin told her to go to. The security guard immediately lets her through, recognizing her from the picture Devin showed him.
Melanie heads into the arena and out to the court, immediately spotting Devin in his element. And she also catches the attention of the other players. She stands off to the side waiting for him to notice her and letting him do his thing.
Devin, completely oblivious to Melanie's arrival, shoots a three and gets back in his zone. Until his teammate, Deandre Ayton, taps him on the shoulder to get his attention. Devin looks at him. "What's up?" He says.
They dap each other up. "Nothing much," Deandre replies and smirks at the guard. "Except, who's that?" He nods his head towards, who is completely oblivious to everyone checking her out.
Devin looks behind him and smiles once he lays eyes on her, taking in her outfit. "That's the girl I've been telling you guys about," he says.
Deandre looks at him with his jaw dropped. "That's Melanie?" He asks, sounding shocked.
"Yep." He walks over to Melanie, leaving Deandre stunned. "Hey," he says, once he gets to her.
Melanie looks up from her phone. "Hey," she replies. They go in for a hug, Melanie standing on her toes to reach him better, only for Devin to smile even more at her cuteness- her height being the cutest part.
"Glad you can make it," he says to her pulling away, keeping his arms around her waist. Devin knows the guys have been staring. He's just trying to claim what's his. And he just wants her as close to him as possible.
"Thanks for inviting me," she says.
"Yeah, you look beautiful, by the way," he tells her. Even though she was wearing a very simple outfit, she looked like a model in his eyes.
