Devin turns back once he was calm again. "Nothing happened, and I swear on my abuelo's grave."
Kelly nods, knowing he's telling the truth. They were at the club together and both saw Kendall, but they obviously never said anything to her or even went up to her. But it already wasn't looking good for Devin since they were rumored to be seen together. "Have you talked to Mel about this?"
Devin shakes his head. "We got into a fight about it when she came home from school. I tried to explain to her, but she won't believe me." He sighs, taking a seat on the chair in front of his locker and starts lacing up his shoes.
Kelly shrugs as he starts getting ready at his locker. "I mean, can you blame her? It's Kendall Jenner, her friend who gets involved with almost every NBA player in the league."
"I honestly can't, bro." Kendall's NBA dating history was no secret. She got involved with players like Ben Simmons, Blake Griffin, and was rumored to be with Kyle Kuzma a couple years ago, even D'Angelo. And Melanie and Kendall were good friends, so Devin didn't blame her for being upset.
Kelly pats his shoulder comfortingly. "I'm sorry, man." He starts lacing up his shoes as well. "But try talking to her about it, and then make it up to her after. And I don't mean buy her a gift to get her to forgive you."
Devin always bought Melanie something every time she was upset at him, like shoes, handbags, etc. But he knew that wasn't gonna work this time. "How am I supposed to make it up to her when she won't even look at me?"
Kelly shrugs at him. "Just do something nice for her that doesn't involve money." He sees that Devin was starting to look more desperate to win his girl back and comes up with the right words. "I'm gonna quote this one guy who gave me and his crazy ass landlord this piece of advice. It doesn't take much to win women over; it's the little things."
Devin chuckles at him and shakes his head before looking next to him. "Using my own words against me." He gives Kelly some dap. "Thanks, man."
Kelly pats his arm. "Not a problem, Book."
Then, someone else comes busting through the locker, making everyone look at the tall man with glasses. "Devin, are you stupid?!" Schneider exclaims.
Devin and Kelly look at him, shocked. "How did you even get in here?" Devin exclaims back.
~With Melanie, Rachel, and Avery~
"I'm so fucking mad," Melanie says, her face getting more red by the minute. Kendall ended up showing up to the game, and Melanie's blood started boiling again. Man, is Devin gonna get it later.
Rachel and Avery, who arrived a few minutes ago, rub her shoulder to calm her down. "It's okay, Mel," Avery says. "Just ignore her. She's probably here to just watch the game." She was also trying to convince that to herself. Melanie wasn't the only one mad at Devin.
Melanie takes a deep breath and pinches her earlobe to relieve some pressure. "I just can't believe her. I mean, she went after my boyfriend, and we're supposed to be friends."
Rachel gives her a look. "You don't know that, Mel," Rachel says. She knew the real story from Kelly since him and Devin went out together. And she knew Devin loved Melanie too much to even look at another girl. She knew Melanie was upset for another reason.
Melanie goes to say something else, but they start introducing the players. "But I just-" Rachel cuts her off.
"No, Mel. Just sit back and watch the game, okay?" Rachel rubs her arm comfortingly. "Pretend she's not here."
Melanie sighs and sits back to wait for the game to start. When Devin comes out, he goes to point and wink at Melanie like he usually does when she's at the games but stops when he sees her angrier then earlier. He looks to Rachel for help, and she secretly points her thumb over to where Kendall was sitting. "Fuck," he says under his breath once he sees Kendall.
