Chapter Twenty-Six--Happy Birthday, DBook!!

Start from the beginning

Devin smiles at her. "I see where you get your stubbornness from." He smirks as he takes another croissant.

Melanie glares at him, even though she knew it was true. "You're really lucky I love you."

Devin smirks as he takes his phone out. "I love you more, mamas." He pulls up Instagram stories and records the table before pointing the phone at Melanie as she takes a sip from her orange juice. He stops the video and captions it: 'Bday celebrations🥳'. He mentions her in his story before posting it.

They finish breakfast about 10 minutes later and start cleaning up. Melanie was doing the dishes as Devin puts the croissants in a container. He walks up behind his girlfriend and wraps his arms around her waist. She smiles as he plants a gentle kiss on her cheek. "Thank you for breakfast, mamas," he says against her cheek.

She smiles at him. "You're welcome, bubs," she replies, putting the last dish in the dishwasher. She turns around in his arms and stands on her toes to wrap her arms around his neck. "Happy birthday."

Devin smiles down at her and pecks her nose. "Thank you, mamas." They meet in the middle for a sweet kiss. "I love you so much, beautiful."

Melanie blushes. "I love you more, Pooka."

They meet in the middle for another kiss. Devin pulls her closer as he pokes her lips with her tongue, asking for an entrance. Melanie refuses just to tease him a bit but gasps when Devin reaches down and squeezes her butt. Devin immediately slips his tongue through and deepens the kiss as his hands travels down to her thighs. He lifts her up and sits her on the counter before stepping between her legs.

Melanie pulls away for air, but Devin starts trailing kisses down her neck. She stops him once he starts playing with her shorts. "Wait," she says. Devin looks at her confused. "I have a present for you."

Devin smiles at her like a little kid on Christmas morning. "What'd you get me?" he asks her.

Melanie hops off the counter and grabs his hand. "C'mon, it's upstairs." Devin starts smirking at her, but she stops him. "It's not what you think."

Devin pouts at her. "Aww." He gives her a pleading look. "Later?"

Melanie smirks at him as she starts walking. "Maybe."

They both walk up the stairs to their room. Melanie gestures Devin to sit on the bed. "Wait here," she tells him.

He does as he's told and watches her walk to her closet. He looks confused. "What is it?"

"Just wait, babe." She grabs the gift bag she hid in one of her large purses before walking back out. "Now, it's nothing compared to what you've gotten me, but I did put a lot of thought into this."

He smiles as he takes the bag from her. "Mel, I love everything you get me." He pecks her lips. "This one is no different."

She smiles nervously. "I just hope you like it."

He opens the bag and pulls out a white Sixers jersey, signed by Allen Iverson himself. He looks at it shocked. "Wow," he says under his breath.

Melanie smiles nervously. "Do you like it?"

Devin smiles at the jersey before looking at her. "I love it." He puts the jersey next to him before pulling her onto his lap. He kisses her repeatedly. "Thank you, mamas."

She smiles as they kiss one more time. "You're welcome, Pooka." He hugs her tightly around her waist. "I'm so glad you like it."

He kisses her cheek. "I love it, babe. This must've been expensive."
