Chapter Forty-Nine~Happy Valentine's Day!

Then, Schneider busts through the door. "Devin, there's an emergency!" he exclaims.

Devin jumps and looks at Schneider. "What, what happened?"

Schneider was gasping for air. "Avery," gasp, "she," gasp.

Devin puts his hand on his shoulder. "Schneider, look at me. Take a deep breath." He sees him do so. He nods as he sees him calming down. "Okay, good. Now, tell me what happened."

Schneider was now calmer and immediately tells him the problem. "Avery went into labor, four weeks early."

Now, it was Devin's turn to start freaking out. "What?!" The two dogs start barking at the sudden noise. "What are you doing standing here?! Get her to the hospital!"

Schneider puts his hands up. "That's where I need you. My car is in the shop, and Avery's breaks are messed up. We need your car."

Devin immediately nods. "Alright, but I'm driving. It's the same hospital Mel works at, right?" Schneider nods as Devin grabs his keys. "Okay, get Avery. I'll give Mel a call once we get in."

Schneider nods, and they go do what they have to do.

~With Melanie~

Melanie, Josh, and Olivia were currently trying to look at the X-Ray. Melanie sighs. "It's too blurry to tell what it's caught in," she says.

Olivia shakes her head. "What a way to start Valentine's Day," she says.

Nurse Solano looks at Dr. McAllister. "Doc, what do you think we should do?"

Dr. McAllister sighs. "Well, we obviously have to get a new X-Ray," she says. "But people have to be there to hold them absolutely still."

They look at the three interns. Josh had a disgusted look on his face. "I know that look," he says. He looks at Olivia and Melanie. "You know that look?"

Melanie had the same look as him. "I know that look."

Here they were, a few minutes later, holding onto the bodies of Max and his wife, who mentioned her name was Elena. They were now dressed in protective gear to protect themselves from the rays on the machine.

Melanie looks at them. "Mr. and Mrs. Jeffereys, just try to hold still, okay?" she tells them.

They nod. Elena groans angrily. "I can't believe you got your dick pierced," she says to Alex.

The three nurses look shocked. "I'm sorry," Josh says.

"What?" Olivia lets out.

They hear Dr. McAllister's voice over the intercom. "Okay, guys, just a few seconds longer," she says.

Melanie realizes what happened to them and gets even more disgusted. "The piercing must've gotten caught on something," she says.

Max sighs, disappointingly. "Well, looks like I've ruined sex for you guys."

Melanie looked like she was about to cry. "You can say that, again," she mumbles.

Olivia looked the same as Melanie. "I'm so glad I like women," she says.

Josh swallows the lump in his throat. "I'm never getting ANYTHING pierced," he says.

Nurse Solano's voice is heard. "Okay, we're good," he says.

The nurses sigh in relief. "Thank god," Melanie mumbles. They take off their protective gear as Dr. McAllister comes in with the new X-Ray.

"Okay," she says. "Mrs. Jeffereys, looks like your husband's piercing got caught on your IUD, and that's what's causing the pain."
