It was bright in the morning, sun rays directly hit the person sleeping peacefully tugged in the blanket. In no time there was an unpleasant, uninvited beeping next to her ear. The sound of alarm.⏰️

She reluctantly squinted her eyes just a little, enough for her to see the phone. She immediately put it on snooze and rolled over drifting back to the dreamland. The same scenario continued till it was past one hour the time she wished to wake up. The realisation hit her like a rock and she bashed into the shower, cursing herself for being a sleepyhead.

As she walked out of the washroom, her eyes roamed for a perfect outfit. She picked a comfy T-shirt and paired it with an elegant messy bun. Right, for the occasion.

She ran downstairs. Reaching the last step, she halted for a second, then tiptoed to the kitchen and made a sudden, unpredicted sound.

Her mom flinched dropping the cookie in her hand. And threw a sharp glare at her.

Mona sheepishly smiled and hugged her, tucking her head in her nape "Morning, mamma. What are you making for me?"

Her mom broke the hug and veered around to face her, "Sweetheart, don't you think you're too early? Why don't you go back and sleep a bit more? So that you can miss your trip with your friends, which you planned for the past two weeks" her mom slightly reprimanded her.

"Mamaa", Mona whined taking her snacks. She went up after throwing a boxy smile at her mom.

"This girl will never change. Little idiot" Her mom just stared at her disappearing figure.

The moment she reached her room, her phone rang, she threw the snacks she just bought on the bed and walked to her phone.

Her face lit up seeing the caller ID. Red tinged her cheeks. "Hello," she set her voice before picking up. "Saish, are you guys ready there?"

"Not there...here. We are just in front of your house. They are going to ring your bell in one, two and three-"

She then heard the bell ring, giggling, she ran to open the door. But before she could, her mom already opened the door and welcomed them in. Her besties ambushed her with a long hug saying they missed her.

"Are you done? Can we leave now?!" They asked all thrilled.

Mona, with a guilty look, replied, "Almost." 😬

The girls just stared at her blankly as though they were watching a thriller movie and the power got cut. Before they could lose their cool and start hitting her, she ran upstairs, "I woke up late, sorryy."

They also headed up while Jesvi shouted, "You come to school 15 minutes prior to the school time every day. How can you be late for a trip, girl? Why are you like this?"

"Save it for later, baby", laughed Mona.

While bickering with each other and pulling each other's legs, they arranged the scattered things in her bag.

"Saish! We left Saish," Jesvi reminded them, tensed.

"Shoot!" Mona's eyes widened. And they rushed downstairs.

Their worry vanished into thin air when they saw Mona's mom and Saish peacefully having a conversation with each other, guffawing.

Mona melted. Her eyes shined. The warmth set her soul.

"It's like my dream come true", she murmured lowly, smiling ear to ear. Seeing her crush and her Mom get along was such bliss.

Suddenly, the main door opened widely with a thug, revealing their friend, who was panting heavily. He placed his hand on his chest and took deep breaths.
