"H-Huh?" left her mouth in a low mumble.
"You look drop-dead gorgeous with your hair down", he repeats, as enthralled as he has ever been.
Her heart starts beating like crazy against the ribcage, both with his words and their proximity. Her breath deepened and the tint on her cheeks turned scarlet. 😳
'Should I be responding now? Omg, he is too close. Does he even realise that? He is looking straight into my soul. What should I do now? Push him? No, he looks so good this close. Hug him back? No, it will be awkward to do it now. Just stay like this? But till when?' She cascaded a whole conversation in a matter of seconds, for it to get abruptly brought to a halt when he tucked a single strand of hair behind her ear.
Her breath hitched, and she let out a tiny gasp that hit him back to reality. He let go of her suddenly and straightened looking everywhere but her.
"Your room is good," he said.
She pouts at the loss. Walking away from the room, aggrieved at his topic change at once, as though he was ashamed of touching her, as though it was his biggest regret.
"Idiot", she muttered.
On the other hand, he was pulling his hair out. Cursing himself for crossing a line thinking he made her uncomfortable. "What the hell is wrong with you?"
He follows her out. To find her in the kitchen on a tiny chair taking something from the cabinet. Even on the chair, she was tiptoeing to reach it. He chuckled. She is so precious.
He leans against the wall folding his arms as his warm gaze stays on her. She comes down, grabs two plates and fills them with his favourite snacks before opening the fridge to grab drinks.
The whole while his unwavering attention on her.
"Come," Mona said, placing the plates on the table in front of the sofa, facing the TV.
He obeys. Sitting down on the sofa with her.
Now that they were settled, he brought the issue back. "I am sorry. I didn't mean to enter your room without permission. I was just curious," he said in a tiny voice, avoiding her gaze as if it killed him to look straight into her eye. Guilt rushed through his blood vessels. 😞
"It's not like you came in to steal my precious teddy. I am the stupid one for leaving you here all by yourself" She laughed it off.
They entered a silent agreement to let go of their earlier brief encounter.
"Eat them well. My mum brings them just for you," Mona said, pushing the plate towards him.
His eyebrows rose in confusion.
"She makes sure the house has all your favourites, just in case you guys come home and you wish to eat something. The last time Jesvi came, she was on could nine when I gave her the chocolate she loves. That's when Mom decided our home would have all the things my friends like, too," she shrugged.
Saish melts there and then. "She is an angel."
"Yup, just like me" Mona added. "What? You don't think I am an angel. You wanna die?" She glares at him when she finds him staring at her with a look that screams 'unbelievable.'
He laughs.
"You sure have a death wish", she murmured faking her anger.
She puts on the national football finals on the TV. And hands him the remote.
"It's ok. Watch what you want to," Saish says, trying to return the remote back.
"Just watch. I am not fond of TV"
