"Yaya, it's good to see you too. Ready for a race?"

Maximus reared in excitement.

"We have to help our friend train. Saish wants to compete in the competition. You think we can do it?" Maximus tilted its head and nodded alongside neighing. Mona placed her hand on his muzzle and planted a peck on his forehead. "Let's kill it, as always."

By the time she got into her riding clothes and got out of, Saish was ready with Lily. In contrast to Maximus, she was cremello, dissipation elegance and grace. She looked like a royal dream come true. It was Mona's first time meeting Lily, and she was starstruck. If not for holding Maximus's tack, she would have fallen to the ground the moment her eyes laid on the fairy mare. (Not to mention the stallion beside her almost lost his shit seeing Lily) 😍

"This is Lily" Saish introduced her to them.

Lily nudged his shoulders with her muzzle, asking who were they. Saish took a step back and whispered in the mare's ears, "It's her."

Lily's eyes shined with excitement. Mona caught that. "Are you filling her head with lies about me, Saish? I don't appreciate that."

"No....but I'd tell her about you."

Mona narrowed her eyes in suspicion. "I will keep an eye on you."

"Without any hesitation, do that. I am all yours."

"Saish!" she whined. "Stop whatever is going on in your mind and focus. We need to win. Right, Max?"

Maximus agreed with her.

"Yes, mam", Saish saluted before mounting himself on Lily, and Mona went after them.

Mona corrected a few mistakes of his and helped him bind with his horse better. She shared a few of the hurdles and techniques she learned after immense practice. They both raced and competed. They were too very immersed in their bubble, they lost track of time. Every minute was meaningful, every experience was worthy and every little talk was ravishing.

The training session went on for a while, till their coach banished them from the grounds for the day, as they were being too much.

Reluctantly, they bid byes to their horses and walked back into the college campus. Just to meet with two flaring brown orbs. "What the hell did I tell you?" Nishan shrieked. He turned to Mona, "And Mona, you said you will go talk to him, not entertain his dumbass decisions."

Mona smiled sheepishly. "He is good you know?"

Nishan sighed. "I know. But being just good is not enough. You know it", he sounded resigned.

"Stop being a jerk", Saish's voice dropped a decibel.

"Shut up you moron. You have never been in a proper horse riding competition and you want to compete for the school? Do you know what it feels like to be lost and helpless? Asshole. You never lost in your life, Saish. First failure will not be easy. Why chase it when you can avoid it? There are better people on the team than you. Let them compete. You stay put" Nishan exploded.

"Nishan. Calm down. It's not like he is going directly to the finals or the inter-school thing. He needs to first win over the better players you are talking about to compete in the actual competition. So let him try. It's not like he will commit suicide if he doesn't get into the starting roster. Give him some credit. He is tenacious." Mona shrugged.

"Don't come to me crying after you lose"

"When did I ever come to you crying, Mr. I hate lizards?" Saish replied calmly.

"Hey! Don't call me that."

Mona shook her head and slowly slipped out of the mess they were going to create. It's never a sensible choice to get into the banter of two best friends. You will get chewed. So, she took the better route and went to the girls' to spill the beans.😁

"Why do I feel I am the third wheel in their relationship?" Jesvi's gaze turned sharp, pointing. "I should break up with him. He is cheating on me with your man."

"Bromance" Sunaira shrugged.

"Well, technically, he should break up with you as you came into their relationship of years", Mona said, adding spice to the wounds.

"I hate him. I hate you" Jesvi crossed her arms, turning to the opposite side.

"Too late baby. You are already mine" Mona hugged her from behind.

"He is not at all at fault. You can do sismance, and he can't do bromance. You are biased" Sunaira wrapped her arms around both of them.

"Don't support him Suniara. You should be on my team" 😒

A chortle broke out from the depths of their lungs, pure bliss.

Just like that, another day warped up. There is never a dull moment when they are together. Never now,  never ever.

Mona slipped into her comfy mattress after she was done filling up her diary. Nowadays, she doesn't write it as often, but whenever she writes, she tries to mention all 'her' historical things that happened during the time she was away from the journal. 🤣

 🤣
