Mona stood there proud and high, seeing Saish conquer the stage with conviction. Everyone just nodded and bowed to them before they left the premises in a blink.

"Woh, that was something" Mona patted his shoulder.

"I was trying so hard not to sound incompetent and nervous"

"Saish, you are many things, but incompetent can't exist in the same sentence in which you are mentioned. You were great as always" she smiled at him. Her belief reached her eyes and lit them like the Milky Way.

The days passed in a blink. Soon, they were caught up in a whirlpool of planning, training programs and things they wanted from the candidates, their expectations and the way to reach their expectations and make the candidates best in their play.

The once trainees turned trainers. It all happened so fast that the first time they entered this planet seemed ages ago. With the very rising sun, they became better versions of their teenage selves. Both at developing themselves and the people around them. 🥲

The training of the new candidates was tough. They sure did have willpower but were lacking in almost all other aspects. Mona and Saish had to start from the very basics of maintaining their posture and controlling their facial expressions.

Half were trained to protect while the other half to destroy.

"Hey there little one!" Mona picked up a cub that looked far too similar to a white tiger. The only difference it had ears bigger than a donkey. Which made it look way too cute for a fierce predator.

"I wanna be like them. Please take me in. I will work very hard" The cub was persistent and kept bugging them for days now.

"I told you you are too small. Grow up, and we will take you," Mona chuckled.

"I am a big boy. Don't underestimate my power. My mom says I can even climb the highest mountain now" the cub was sulking. Now, who is going to tell him that the work he wants to do is dangerous? He could get hurt.

"Ok, big boy. You go get the fruit on top of the tree, and I will consider giving you a space on the team" Saish took him from Mona into his arms.

"I can't climb a tree" 😑

"Then you can't be a part of it" Saish smugly shrugged.

"Y-You are bad" The cub jumped off him and ran towards the tree.

Mona and Siash watched him with half amusement and half adoration while he tried to jump and catch the fruit. His little paws lifted just a little from the ground. With every failed attempt he scowled.

"Aww, if he keeps doing that I am just gonna pack him in a bag and take him with me" Mona was spellbound with the tiny cutie.

"It's kidnapping," Saish said with an offended 'not so pleased' expression.

"Do I look like I care? I want it, I get it" Mona sassed, swinging her hair in the air. Saish's glare intensified. " Fine. Stop digging holes in my head. Thank you."

Saish turned his head away, but the ice in his gaze did not find a way back home to the Antarctica.

Mona was oddly pleased. "Don't be jealous. I will always choose you over him" Mona's grin widened when Saish paled, his mouth hung low. He didn't decline the accusations.

Though they were merely facts, he didn't resist, he just looked away, hiding his expression. 🤭

'Was he really jealous?' Mona questioned.

They busied themselves correcting the recruits after their sweet little banter.

Not noticing the little puff ball was using all its mind to get the fruit. "Got it!" he yelled. "I got it. Now take me in," he jumped, clapping.
