You sat cross-legged on your bed, facing Loki as he stood infront of you. "It has been just a week, but it feels as if you never left," You looked into his eyes. "I think being in your thoughts counts as being with you," He smiled lightly, eyes squinted a small amount with one of his eyebrows raised. "But I could not touch you as I can now," You told him. "But can you touch me now?" He asked. "Of course," You started, but as you went to hold his arm, you remembered that he was under the Captain's watch right now. "Right..." Looking down, you smiled half heartedly with a sigh. "You have never forgotten that before, Y/N. I am shocked." He told you. "As am I."
"You should go now, Loki. The Captain will get angry if he realises." You told him. "But will he?" He raised his eyebrows. "If you're not careful, maybe-" "No. I know what it is." He started, "You wish to be left alone, don't you Y/N?" "You can still tell?" You asked. "I can always tell." Moving back slightly, your eyebrows raised as you thought, 'He has never said anything like that to me before.' "I will see you later," You smiled. "Later, it is." He nodded and you moved your hand through him and he vanished.
Sighing deeply, you fell to the side onto your bed. You loved having Loki back, but something wasn't right. He seemed so much more soft spoken, he seemed different. Not that you were complaining, but it was a lot to handle at once. His eyes, they had also changed so you naturally assumed after seeing everything he did while you two were away, he had changed a bit. After all, he did save some people while you were gone. He's back, but it didn't feel like him. Yes, he has cried, yelled and truely felt infront of you. But this was so much more different, you had seen this before but it's been too long to remember fully.
You left to find Thor, hoping to take your mind off it. Leaving your room, you re-adjusted your top and walked into the living room area. "Thor?" You announced, seeing his short but blonde-ish hair. He turned back, "Y/N? How are you today?" You nodded, "What about you? Having fun here?" "Ah, yes. Very much, thank you." You both smiled to eachother and you sat beside him. "Are you and Loki alright?" He asked. Raising your eyebrow, "Of course, why would we not be?" "Oh, was it not you? I am sure I heard my brother yelling last night to someone. I was sure it was you, sorry." He explained. "What did you hear?" You asked. "I heard him yelling for someone to leave him alone." You thought deeply. Last night, he was in one of the agents watch. "He must have been told something that he did not like. He was in an agents watch last night," You told Thor. He nodded, "That does seem like my brother." You hummed, looking down.
"Does Loki not seem off to you, Thor?" You asked, keeping your head down. "Yes, strangely too. I do expect my brother to betray me but recently he has been quite the opposite. I am glad though, I have missed my brother." Then it hit you. "Yes! I remember, Loki was much more soft as a child," You smiled to Thor, "But why a sudden change?" "Well, he did hear of mother's death and he could not do anything about it. Maybe that is it? He lost you, then our mother, he could not see me and hated our father. A lot has changed for him, Y/N, while you were away." You nodded, understanding and agreeing. "I do hope that he will be okay again, your parents deaths are still fresh. Aren't they?" "Yes. They are."
"Sorry to interrupt catch-up, but my watch is over. Thor?" Captain announced, walking over towards you both with Loki behind him. Loki had his eyebrows furrowed as you looked up from your laps to see him looking at you for a moment. He turned and looked out one of the windows from where he stood. He was blank. Thor stood and nodded at Rogers. Rogers went and sat on the sofa opposite you. "Brother, I need to speak with you alone," Loki said, looking at only Thor. They left.
"For someone you spoke about so much before, you don't speak as much I thought you would, Y/N. Are the two of you okay?" Rogers asked. You nodded, "Has he told you differently?" He shook his head and turned on the tv.
Moments passed, and there was a call on the computer. You answered and Fury explained a short mission he had for you and Romanoff. You nodded and called her on your ear piece. While you gave her the details, you walked to you room. Leaving the door open, you changed in your en-suite into your suit. You wore black, skin tight trousers and a deep purple, 3/4 sleeved, also skin tight top that faded to black which hugged the bottom of your neck. You held it together with a deep purple belt, black boots and fingerless leather gloves.
You left moved back into your room and kept a hand to your ear piece as you ran a hand through your hair. "I'll meet you there." You ended the call and left your room, shutting the door. Taking a deep breath, you stretched your arms and legs on the way to the elevator. "Where are you going, Y/N?" You turned back to the voice, from waiting for it. You smiled, "Me and Natasha have a mission. There was a call from Fury when the two of you left." You looked over to Loki. Thor nodded, with a smile, "Good luck." Nodding back, you stepped into the elevator when it got there. "Later," You raised a hand as a wave and the doors shut.
A while passed. You looked over to Natasha and nodded. She threw a reasonably sized cloth into the air and you threw daggers into it to catch the guys in it as it got pinned into the wall. "Good going," She said, with a smile.
Suddenly, there was an explosion behind you and you were thrown to the ground, cutting the side of your head. You groaned, getting up and turning. You shook your head angrily and ran towards them. "Y/N! Wait!" Natasha yelled, but you kept going. You ran over to a man wrapped up in black and fought him.
Loki watched you fight through a screen that the Captain had turned on. It wasn't close up, but it was of the overall fight. He watched as you moved from place to place, throwing punches and throwing people to the ground. He watched as you used the tricks his mother taught you both. "Is Y/N alright?" He heard the Captain ask through his ear piece. "She's fine, but I thought we couldn't use the screens Captain?" She replied. "Loki wantedo to see what would happen, so, instead of taking him out, I used the screen." He heard him explain.
Soon, you and Natasha arrived back at the tower through the elevator. "You can handle it, right?" She asked you and you nodded, rubbing your eyes. You didn't notice Thor and Loki looking at you, so you moved to the sink to dampen a cloth. You held the cloth to your cut and leant against the countertop. As you heard footsteps behind you, you turned to them.
It was Loki and Thor. Thor congratulated you for your work, whereas Loki stared down the cloth you had to your head. You rinsed the cloth, finished with it and thanked Thor with a smile. You turned to Loki, as you saw him approve in silence. His eyes then met yours, "You fought well. Frigga would have been proud of you." You smiled, your eyes drifting to the ground for a second, "Thank you, Loki."
