Ace and I were working on a generator

Ace and I were working on a generator. We had three left, and Dwight had already been sacrificed, and I hadn't seen our other team-mate at all. I had a med-kit sitting by my feet as both my hands working in the generator. Ace and I were both silent, working quickly just as a teenager bolted in the room. He stopped when he saw us, and I supposed he was our other team member. He dropped to his knees and looked at the generator, "You guys almost done with this one?"

I looked to the tattoo on his neck and frowned, "Yeah. Are you new?"

"Yeah. Name's Frank." He holds out a hand and I shake it firmly, wondering why his hands were so cold. He starts working on the generator and almost immediately messes up, leaning back a bit as the sparks fly. Ace scowls at him and I frown, keeping my eyes on the generator, "We're almost done, kid, so how about you sit this one out? We don't need you drawing the killer over here."

"I'm not a kid." I roll my eyes, and suddenly feel a knife bury itself in my side, to the hilt. I look to Frank to see him pull a mask over his face. Just my luck. I lean heavily against the wall, as he towered over me. Ace grabbed his flashlight and I expected him to blind the kid. Instead, he got to his feet and brought it down on the back of the young killer's head. Frank almost immediately slumped to the floor, unconscious. I frown at my partner, "Ace! You can't keep doing this!"

"Why not?"

He leans over to help me, but I'm already fixing myself up, and I tell him to work on the generator. He does so hesitantly, putting himself between me and Frank. I nudge the unconscious teen gently with the toe of my shoe, and get to my feet. Ace finished the generator, and we quickly leave the upstairs room before the short siren woke Frank. We ran to another generator, and saw Meg. She smiled, "Good job, guys, this one's almost done then we've got one more."

I rolled my eyes and knelt beside her, Ace doing the same. I scoffed, "Ace knocked the killer out again."

Meg frowned, "Ace, that's cheating."

Ace didn't say anything, but smiled a little, continuing his work on the generator. I heard a loud noise and looked to the window of the house we were in. I saw Frank, his mask pulled up just above his brows. He rubbed the back of his head, angirly driving his knife into the wall and shouting out the window, "Damn you, you old bastard! When I get my hands on you, I'll use your skin to roll my fuckin' blunts!"

Ace frowned, keeping his voice low, "That's a colorful threat. And I'm not that old..."

I look to him with raised brows and he frowns, "Okay, but we can both agree I've aged like a fine wine."

Meg and I exchange a glance and quietly continue to work on the generator. We're silent, and I suddenly see Frank appear over Ace, knife raised. I grab Ace's upper arm and yank him out of the way, making Frank slash the empty air and stumble forward. Ace got to his feet and immediately started running. Frank ran, despite having me and Meg easily in his clutches. Part of me wanted to see him even try to throw Ace over his shoulder. Me and Meg finished the generator, and moved on to the last one. We were halfway done, when Ace bolted by, disappearing behind a barricade. Frank came by not long after. He cleared his throat and lifted his mask, looking to Meg, "Hey, I'm Frank." He looked to me, "Where did that friend of yours go?" Meg and I exchange a glance before pointing directly to Ace. He thanks us and pulls his mask on before running to get him. Ace let out a yelp, and we watched him run a different direction as we finished the generator. We made our way to the gate, and after deciding I'd wait for Ace, Meg ran off.

A few minutes pass by and I start to worry, I step out and nearly run into Frank. He frowns, "Did he leave?"

I shake my head, "I thought you hooked him."

He was going to say something, but a long plank of wood struck him. Ace groaned, and pushed a hand to a wound in his torso, "Who's side are you on?!" I shrugged a shoulder and he bends over, grabbing Frank's knife and tucking it into his own belt, "Okay, let's get out of here."
