"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Cause you're pretty."

"Yes, that's the tenth time you've told me today. You've been acting weird and you oughtta cut it out before I send you to Moira to get your brain checked."

He let out a huff, and went quiet. I was sitting on the floor with my back to the couch, and he was laying next to me, sideways, with his head on his lap. His hat was on my other side and I twirled his hair, keeping my eyes on the TV. He rolled over onto his back, "D'ya think I'n lettin' myself go?"

I frowned a little, looking down at him, "Why do you ask?"

He shrugged, "No reason, doll... Just been feelin' sick lately."

I put my hand on his forehead, slowly drawing back to move his hair from his face, "What do you mean?"

"Dunno. I've been eatin' too much and I ain't been workin' out with Gabe or hangin' out with Genji like I usually do. Maybe I'm just goin' through somethin'. Forget I said anythin'."

I furrowed my brows, my thumb grazing over his sideburns, "Do you think you've just lost motivation?"

"Dunno. You think that's what it is?"

"Could be. Maybe you're just going through a rough patch, Jess. I'll still be by your side through it."

He sighed, putting his calloused hand over mine, "You're too good to me, doll."

I chuckled, "Well someone's got to put up with your nonsense. Would you rather Gabe or Moira do so?"

"Lordy, I didn't say yer bad! I love ya, darlin', that's all."

"I love you too, cowboy."

We were quiet, both of our eyes glued to the TV, seeing what catastrophic event took place today. Genji stayed for a while, with a juice box in his hand. Moira walked by with some chittering animals in a small cage covered with a cloth, and for a moment we could hear Gabe, bickering over the phone before he shut his door and quietened his tone. Things were normal around base. Calm, for once.

McCree looked up at me again, "Y'think I'm gainin' weight?"

I kept my eyes on the screen, "Does it matter?"

"It matters to me..."

I looked to him, "You've been awfully self-conscious lately... Did someone say something?"

"Nah... I just... been noticin' things more. I just wanna make sure I stay good enough for you."

I chuckled, running my fingers through his thick hair, "You don't have to try to be good enough for me; you already are."

"You say that, but-"

I cut him off, frowning, "I say it because it's true. You've already won me over, honey. Now you just gotta relax and let things go. Can you do that?"

"For you?" He smiled a little, "Yeah, I can do that."

We heard a door slam, and Gabe stormed into the living room, flopping on the couch with a huff, arms crossed. I leaned my head back on the cushion, looking upside down at him from my place on the ground, "What's the matter?"

"Personal business."

He stood up almost as fast as he sat down, storming to the kitchen and coming back with a piece of chocolate cake in his hand, holding it like it was pizza and eating it like so. I smiled a little and McCree raised his brows, "Watch the calories, Commander."

He grumbled with a full mouth, "I'll burn 'em off." He narrowed his eyes, "Why? Am I gaining weight?"

I chuckled and McCree assured the man he was fit as a fiddle. He left the room, and the cowboy looked up at me again, "Why didn't you settle for Reyes?"

I snorted a laugh, "Seriously?"

"Yeah. The mans got just about everythin', don't he?"

I couldn't help but laugh, "McCree, he's like, twenty years older than us!"

"That ain't never stopped anyone."

"He's not my type!"

"What is your type?"

I kissed his forehead, "Cowboys that ask too many questions."

"You mean me?"

"Mhmm." I looked at him, "And I'd never settle for anyone else, so quit you're worryin' and look at the weather channel."
