"Glory, I don't think that was what she meant when she asked you that."
"Well, I know, but geez! Why are women so complicated?"
I chuckled, "How am I supposed to know? All I've got is Deacon."
"And I'm still not sure how or why."
"Me neither. But I know that I love him. A lot."
She sighed, leaning her head back on the couch, "See? I want what you have with Deacon! How do you guys do it?"
"Oddly enough, there's a lot of trust involved. I just know that whatever happens, he's got my back."
She thought for a second, "I have an idea. I need to go stop by Goodneighbor to try to pick up a woman. I'm in desperate need for a one night stand... I'll see you around."
I stood up, laughing at her comment, "Yeah, you too. Good luck, Glory." She left and I rolled my shoulders. I was worn out and planned on taking a short nap. I entered my bedroom, seeing Deacon sat at his desk in the corner, leaned back with the eraser of a pencil resting on his bottom lip calmly. Upon seeing me, he uncrossed his legs and spun the chair so his back was to me. He'd been ignoring me since yesterday. I frowned, closing the door and going to lay down. I sat on the bed, looking curiously at my boyfriend, speaking softly, "Will you come lay with me? Just until I fall asleep?"
He muttered something under his breath, probably mocking me, then stood up, waving a hand, signaling for me to scoot over. I did so and he got under the covers with me, laying with his back to me, and his arms crossed. He was acting like a child. I sighed, putting a palm to his back and tracing shapes on his shoulder blades, "Will you look at me?"
He turned to face me, his sunglasses still hiding his eyes. I sat up, looking to him, "Deacon, what is the matter with you? Did I piss you off or something?"
He clenched his jaw, sitting up and keeping his arms crossed, "No..."
"Well then what's wrong? Talk to me. Please."
He huffed, muttering something quietly.
"Say that again?"
"I don't like how much you've been hanging around Glory lately."
I laughed, "Seriously? That's what this is about?"
"It's not funny."
"Me and Glory are friends Deacon, friends are supposed to hang out."
He huffed, uncrossing his arms, "I know! That's why I'm upset! I don't know why it's bothering me!"
I smiled, poking his stomach teasingly, "Are you jealous?"
He scoffed, looking away, "Of Glory? ...No way..."
"Oh, you are! It's okay to be jealous Deacon. It's just another human folly. I love Glory, really, but not the same way I love you, alright?"
He held out his arms tiredly and I crawled to him, encasing him in a hug. He kissed the top of my head, and sighed, "Yeah... Alright. Can you hang out with me more though...?"
