3rd person's pov
The Troubadour had no chance of turning and the pirates' ships were getting closer. They were faster what took every piece of hope that was left. Not being enough, heavy rain began to fall onto the ship, the sky almost pitch black from the clouds, covering the sun.
The main ship was standing right next to the Troubadour and it didn't even take a minute for the command 'Capture it!' to come. On ropes, the pirates swung on top of the ship drawing their blades in order to kill everyone on this ship. The Captain and his crew were prepared and had their weapons nearby. The two Witchers took their swords out of their holders, ready to fight the pirates off, in order to get everyone to Skellige alive.
The Captain of the pirates' ship swung over as well and walked up to Guthlaf Teague. "Look here, boys. A lost bird. A lost bird that never learned to fly." The pirate grinned at Guthlaf. They knew each other; they had several encounters before because this was their route and of course also Guthlaf route to Skellige. Mostly there was enough time to turn or to create a span wide enough for them not to get near The Troubadour usually. "To my great regret. But never too late to learn, eh?" he asked and drew his sword grinning and then jumping down the stairs from the steering wheel place onto the main deck. They started crossing blades, as well as the sailors and the other pirates.
Evelyn and Geralt rushed down to the main deck as well and used the moment of surprise to slice the throat of two pirates. "Evelyn!" Geralt yelled to warn her of the coming strike from behind. She pushed the pirate against a mast and both Witchers stabbed it into the guts at the same time. Panting, the female Witcher turned, ready to kill the next one, as he lunged at her head, which she dodged and then killed the pirate. Geralt held her upper arm looking at her. "Will you marry me?" he asked. Yelling, a pirate rushed over to them, trying to slice both of them at one strike. The two Witchers jumped away which made the pirate lose his balance being shoved into the sword of another sailor.
"I don't think now's the best time." She said, being almost killed again. Same for Geralt. They barely made it to defend themselves. "Now may be the only time. You said something big had to happen!" He yelled from across the deck to her. They had to separate again and in order to kill more pirates so they would have a chance of surviving. In the middle, at the mainmast, they met again. He took her hand and looked her in the eyes. "I love you." he stated what made Evelyns expression soft.
Another pirate got in the way yet again which got Evelyn so annoyed that she lunged with both hands at him and splitting its skull in half. "Would you please shut the fuck up!" She yelled at the dead body then turned back to Geralt with a soft expression. "I've made my choice. What's yours?" He asked her still holding onto her arm. "Teague!" she yelled to the Captain that was again behind the steering wheel fighting off, not the Captain anymore, he got his interest in something else; the goods on the ship. He looked at the woman confused as he crossed blades with a man with scars all over his face. "Marry us!" she demanded and Teague's eyes went wide. "I'm a little busy at the moment!" he said while he sliced the stomach of the man open.
More pirates from the other ship got onto the deck making it hard to keep up with all of them. "Teague, now!" Geralt added while he was surrounded by three pirates. He rushed his blade around him, making them fall to the ground. "Fine, then." Teague agreed while a red-haired pirate with an eye patch tried to get a hold of Teague's sword. He kicked him against the railing making him fall over it. Teague stepped on the low wall behind the steering wheel to be seen by the two Witchers. Geralt rushed over to his still fiancée and hugged her side, his sword being held to the side to defend himself.
"Dearly beloved, we have gathered here today..." he started but got interrupted by a young boy with an ear missing. "To nail your gizzards to the mast, you poxy cur!" he said kicking his chin, breaking it. The couple crossed blades with the mates of the now-dead boy. Pausing the 'ceremony'. They had to run in a circle, avoiding the pirates and then coming together again. "Evelyn of Lyria, do you take me to be your husband?" Geralt asked and Evelyn smiled widely. "I do!" she exclaimed. "Great." Geralt said not believing that they were now this close to being married in the middle of a battle. Geralt kneeled in order to keep his head on his shoulders. Evelyn stabbed the man who just wanted to kill him.
"Geralt of Rivia, do you take me to be your wife..." Evelyn started and held all the time onto Geralt's hand, even when they were fighting off the pirates. They turned but never let go of each other. "...in sickness and in health..." she continued and rammed her sword into the stomach of a man running at her. "With health being the less likely?" She finished her vow and being reunited with Geralt in his arms. "I do." he answered and both smiled for a moment before they had to fight again.
"As Captain, I pronounce you..." Teague got interrupted by another pirate who wanted to kill him. "You may kiss-" He groaned as another one ran up the stairs. He laughed as he cut his head off. Geralt leaned in, ready to finish the uncommon ceremony and to kiss his almost-wife. Both of them groaned as one wanted to lung at them in the meanwhile. He had to learn his lesson by being kicked in the balls and then being thrown into the cold water. "You may kiss-" he couldn't finish his sentence yet again. Evelyn and Geralt had to cross blades with so many that at last they even crossed blades with each other. "Just kiss!" The Captain finally yelled. With a relieving sigh, they fell into each other's arms, Geralt's free arm on her waist and hers on his neck. They finally shared the kiss that would make them husband and wife.
