Ciri was laying in bed, explosions were heard in the distance what lit up the room from time to time. "It's going to be okay, girl." a blonde woman said as she put down the lit candle on the nightstand next to Ciri. She sat down at the edge of her bed. "The battle's close but Nilfgaard's trying to go north. They've no reason to come here." she said, comforting the girl who just looked at her. "I know. It's a simple life. But if I'm gone tomorrow, I had everything I wanted: my health, a roof over my head, a headstrong boy, his father to match. Everything. Except a daughter." she said "I can't help but think I was meant to find you." she said taking Ciris hands in hers. Ciri looked at the woman, she was tired from fleeing all the way from Cintra, having to hide from Nilfgaard. "Sleep, girl." the woman said, caressing Ciri's cheek. She blew out the candle and left.
Waking up from her bad dream in which a white-haired man stood on a burned battlefield, yelling a woman's name: 'Evelyn!' Over and over again. Dead people were lying everywhere, the trees, bushes, everything was burned. Only this white-haired man with black clothing and a silver necklace was to be seen.
"Go. Find Geralt of Rivia. He is your destiny." the words of her grandmother flew through her head. She looked outside the window and saw that the sun was rising. She quickly got dressed and threw her dark blue cloak over along with her hood on her head. Carefully she opened the front door, without being heard. Noiseless she closed the door and walked the path down towards the woods. She looked back once and started running into the woods, she didn't want to cause any more trouble. What if Nilfgaard would come here? They couldn't get her, she had to move on.
"Where are you going?" Yurga yelled but that didn't stop the Witcher. The forest was wrapped with mist, covering the ground and making it unable to see through the leaves of the trees, hiding the sky that seemed gloomy and dark inside the forest. Walking around aimlessly, Geralt looked around every corner and tree that was coming, hoping to find that girl.
He heard rustling. The rustling of feet shoving leaves away. Cracking branches from being stepped at. Trying to look through the bushes to see what was there, Geralt tilted his head a few times. A girl with light blonde hair came running towards the Witcher. Geralt's eyes widen. She came to a stop in front of the Witcher, he looked down at the girl without a word. Ciri looked at Geralt, he was the white-haired man she dreamed about. Geralt recognized her, even if he had barely seen her face before. They just knew it was who they were looking for. Ciri rushed forward with her arms reached out and hugged Geralt. Geralt put his arms around the shoulders of the little girl, knowing it was her; his and Evelyns Child Surprise. Ciri exhaled happily to finally have found Geralt of Rivia, her destiny. "People linked by destiny will always find each other." Geralt repeated the sentence his mother told him.
Ciri pushed herself away and looked at Geralt. "Who's Evelyn?" she asked and Geralt's eyes widen.
"It's true, I saw it with my own eyes." a sailor exclaimed as he was drinking ale with Jaskier. He was in Oxenfurt currently, travelling around the continent on his own now, just like the Witchers. "No, way- They would have invited me." he scoffed laughing unsure about that and scratched his neck at the same time. The sailor kept trying to convince the bard but he just couldn't believe it. Another man slammed his mug on the table. "It's true, bard. I married them myself." Captain Teague spoke, with a grin plastered on his face. Jaskier laughed, hurt filling his expression. "No, she's my best friend on this big, wide world given by the gods, she would have never married without me being there for her." Jaskier said while nibbling on his mug. "Listen, they didn't know if they'd survive the attack or not so they took the chance in marrying before dying." The Captain explained at what Jaskier scoffed. "Well-, then I suppose you guys have to tell me the details. All world must know about the first-ever Witcher wedding." Jaskier demanded standing up, lifting his fist into the air, determined to spread the tales of Geralt and Evelyn of Rivia and Lyria.
